  2. I assumed some sort of unnecessary overtaking maneuver ... but expected it to be another vehicle given that the taxi must have gone quite far over to put the oncoming cyclists at risk ... 🤔
  3. Direct mount smart trainers will accommodate most if not all frames and gear setups albeit they may have 11spd+ in mind. Elite, Wahoo and Tacx are probably the most common but I dare say they all offer very similar experiences. (others include Saris, Magene) Plenty of apps available to trial ... some are also free.
  4. Wasn't Giant CT affiliated to Olympic Cycles.? Maybe contact them.
  5. R149 options on Takealot if you're wanting a quicker.
  6. He said youngsters from P ... 🤭
  7. https://forum.bikehub.co.za/topic/183073-boa-parts-replacement-service/#comment-3538715 May have some useful info (if you haven't already checked) ... 👆
  8. Tricky stretch of road at the best of times ... certainly would think twice before venturing that way over the holiday period. I'm sure there's enough alternatives around Gordon's Bay.
  9. I used to think that waiting until 6:00 (and later) to ride and avoiding certain areas decreased your risk, but seems DUI happens 24/7 and everywhere. ☹
  10. This and the Edge 705 were the OGs. Only issue may be battery life if it's still the original battery.
  11. Probably not the most helpful comment but perhaps consider what of Garmin functions are "critical" and see which backup unit covers most of those bases.?
  12. While I generally concur, today was one of the few mornings that I actually didn't feel overwhelmed by the numbers of road users ...7h30 on a public holiday and it was still relatively quiet. Passed the scene and even looking at the pic posted, I still can't work out what happened. (I do suspect speculation will likely be spot on.!) All very tragic and so unnecessary. RIP fellow cyclist. 😥 I always look forward to having some time to ride during the holiday period but the bike may again be standing until mid Jan after this reminder of festive revelling.
  13. This.!☝️ Nowadays my back barely let's me ride on the hoods never mind the drops. 🤣
  14. I suspect most areas have a number of viable options for service and repair so I don't see how anybody can survive when delivering sub par service ... wouldn't patrons just move on.?
  15. This was shared on a PPA whstsapp chat but nothing further there either.
  16. Common sizes: 50-34 52-36 53-39 Nice thing nowadays is that most 110bcd cranks accommodate all.
  17. For me it was the opposite ... thought I had entered but upon checking turns out I didn't. This getting older is becoming more and more challenging.! 🙈
  18. Similar first reaction ... little about that frame suggesting that it's a Giant TCR.
  19. The Loading Zone (Maitland) was always very helpful. Admittedly, it's been ages since I've last had contact.
  20. Lost a few bibs where a jagged saddle clamp protruded beyond the narrowest parts of a saddle.
  21. Are you referring to easybike.co.za.? If so, legit and active here on Bikehub too. Little personal experience but I'm sure others will chip in.
  22. * wrong thread - not sure how that happened 😊 *
  23. Was hoping this was largely a thing of the past. ☹ We were inbound just before 8 and outbound around 10. Guess we were lucky ...

    Inner Soles?

And sometimes different models of the same brand have different sizing too. 🤦🏻‍♂️
