  1. I recall Bicycle Maintenance Centre - BMC, Salt River having something similar. I speak under correction, but think it was a subcontracted service. Keen to hear about Sportopia's service offer. Also great to to see Sportopia growing as they have.
  2. As was once said in a TV commercial: "Give that man a Bells ..." Great innings.! (with more to come)
  3. Is he not coming for the one that really matters ... the CTCT.!
  4. Rapha ended, and Versus challenge started.
  5. Definitely no cars involved. Freak accident by all accounts. Group rolling off direction Chappies after having stopped and regrouped at the top of Suikerbossie when one lost control/hit something and went down.
  6. Remember, Cyclelab offers Price Match so could possibly match the BA price.
  7. Runners run, cyclists ride. The rest of us stay home finishing leftover puddings and beverages.
  8. I've done what I could to take care of leftover Christmas/New Year lunch and puddings. Still working hard on the the leftover beverages ... they're just not staying cold long enough in this heat.
  9. These from Anatomic had my attention although I never got around to buying them: https://www.anatomic.co.za/products/biotomic-undervest-white
  10. I thought the forecast had gotten it wrong 'cause the wind was still.pumping early morning ... not often that the wind drops during the day. Enjoy the calm while it lasts because it seems there's still some more wind on the way.
  11. Can't recall seeing any issues reported with Decathlon. Here's a recent thread referencing the store: https://forum.bikehub.co.za/topic/195340-dont-scrap-that-floor-pump-just-yet/#comment-3944527
  12. Do both.!
  13. that's a nice chunk of 500 challenge.!
  14. If/when I attempt this it would probably have to be over 6 days as I'm always unlikely to ride on 24/25 Dec. Now to convince a few others to try that with me ... LOL Unfortunately not this year as I'm off the bike with a sore back.
  15. "The Pedal Power Association, a Public Benefit Organisation with more than 18 000 members, launched the very successful 'Cyclists Stay Alive at 1.5' campaign back in 2011 which resulted in a 1 metre passing law which was promulgated in 2013 in the Western Cape."
  16. Agreed. "Rammed down" was the first description circulated via Stay Wider of the Rider incident alerts, and neither that nor any description since hits home as hard as the video does.
  17. When you're lucky enough to get them on sale/discounted.
  18. "Can't argue with idiots. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."
  19. As a cyclist I'm also frustrated at times by things us cyclists do and I hope that comments are based on those things and not this particular incident. Surely nobody is insinuating that this cyclist was at fault.?
  20. Must have just missed this as I came through the area at about the same time. Then while heading through the widest part of Plumstead main road I have some oomie and tannie lay on the hooter as I'm passing a slower cyclist because I only left them 10m of road. It's official ... it's crazy season.! Also heard of a fatal incident in Kenilworth - no details.
  21. Depends ... what brand is the BMX.?
  22. At least two of EVERYTHING.!
  23. This.! Shop beforehand to know prices and actual deals. Don't be fooled by RRP.
  24. Orbea is the somewhat forgotten brand since they exited the World Tour. Original Orbeas were real works of art and great to see the brand gaining popularity again.
  25. Alternative in the Classifieds: https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/wheel-spares-and-axles/658438/epic-dealcarbon-rim-brake-pads Swisstop, Zipp, Shimano would probably give similar performance.
