  1. I decided to stay off the roads and out of the chaos ... Hopefully things will settle after championship weekend.
  2. Strongs Dale. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป I've been driving to Green Point when having to ride solo thinking it was safer. โ˜น๏ธ
  3. Safe to say there are no guarantees. All work well enough, but can just as easily fail. What I forgot to add in earlier post was if able to, try the transponder (assuming it's detachable) with a different chest strap. I have had failure in the past where only the strap was faulty and comparatively cheap to replace.
  4. Suspect I'm in a similar boat with a failing HRM. From what I've seen: Magene H003 R740 Wahoo Tickr 2 R999 Polar H9 R1299 Garmin Dual R1499 You may still be able get some lesser known brand for a little less.
  5. I noticed that "tent city" was gone when I passed Green Point ... could account for what seemed like more than usual number of characters through Sea Point and Camps Bay. And yes, that wind yesterday was interesting too. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  6. They won but probably not how they were expecting to.
  7. Most go via Bottelary, Kromme Rhee and R44 keeping some distance from Kaya.
  8. How do you feel about 35 000+ cyclists at CTCT.? ๐Ÿ™ˆ
  9. Rather go a little slower, but get to go again.! ๐Ÿ˜Š
  10. Sounds familiar... and haven't used it again since. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ
  11. Ambulances also noted at Bootleggers heading back to Camps Bay - not too sure what was happening there either. Strongs to all. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป
  12. This. Single sided is enough for most peeps but it will leave you wondering ... Not seeing anything sub 15k but quite a few just over. Reach out to those stores and see if anybody has appetite for a better deal.
  13. I heard it was down around the Castle/Parade.
  14. The last few weekends of Jan did seem busier than usual and felt quite dangerous as you say. This weekend felt less so from a traffic and general public perspective. Of course, now in the run up to CTCT, every bike owner is out on the road ... great to see as long as everybody behaves.
  15. Sorry, I interpreted "Dreaded Helmet Itch" as the desire to acquire a new helmet. Hey, it may even help with your symptoms ...
  16. I recall Bicycle Maintenance Centre - BMC, Salt River having something similar. I speak under correction, but think it was a subcontracted service. Keen to hear about Sportopia's service offer. Also great to to see Sportopia growing as they have.
  17. As was once said in a TV commercial: "Give that man a Bells ..." Great innings.! (with more to come)
  18. Is he not coming for the one that really matters ... the CTCT.!
  19. Rapha ended, and Versus challenge started.
  20. Definitely no cars involved. Freak accident by all accounts. Group rolling off direction Chappies after having stopped and regrouped at the top of Suikerbossie when one lost control/hit something and went down.
  21. Remember, Cyclelab offers Price Match so could possibly match the BA price.
  22. Runners run, cyclists ride. The rest of us stay home finishing leftover puddings and beverages.
  23. I've done what I could to take care of leftover Christmas/New Year lunch and puddings. Still working hard on the the leftover beverages ... they're just not staying cold long enough in this heat.
  24. These from Anatomic had my attention although I never got around to buying them: https://www.anatomic.co.za/products/biotomic-undervest-white
  25. I thought the forecast had gotten it wrong 'cause the wind was still.pumping early morning ... not often that the wind drops during the day. Enjoy the calm while it lasts because it seems there's still some more wind on the way.
