Not that it matters in terms of their responsibility, but was Basso one of their official brands.? Or was it just excess stock after the demise of a certain other bike store/distributor.?

There are reasons already mentioned why some may not just get on a bike, and would prefer to subscribe to an organized group/club instead. That said, I'm no stranger to just riding and getting in the slip ... but I've also had many rides where it seems everybody is going the opposite direction. 🙈

Start riding with a group.? Clubs would generally provide that opportunity when others are not available.

Yip. Particularly curious about the southern suburbs and CBD. Northern suburbs appear to be in a much better space. I acknowledge and I am familiar with many of the names mentioned, but even they are far less visible than before. Infinity would possibly be the one exception.
