  2. So what strap do you have ?
  3. WIll give this a bash then on my R189 casio watch.
  4. Thanks G, nylon better than plastic ?
  5. Do you guys find the leather strap causes you to sweat more ? Humidity under a strap does not play well with the skin.
  6. From personal experience, the kickr is the most simple and straight forward to use. Also, it is very quiet to use. I dont use mine hooked to a subscription model. Rather use it to listen to audio books or catch up on you tube "stuff". While I use it to train I am not using some goal orientated program. They are to boring. BUT, time to figure out a plan.

Another happy customer. On the R44 towards Stellies. Stopped and handed the guy 2 tubes. Usual two shifting spanners and small hand punp. But the guy was unmasked. The guy was just so happy that someone was giving something with no strings attached. He was really happy just to be given something for free that was helpfull. The interaction was a real humbling experience. Especially when you walk awau and get into a R200k delivery vehicle. But I did not want to ask if that old phone could take a sim card. That might have taken the conversation to far. I am going to have to order more soon. My supplies are running low.

  12. Guys, let's keep to topic here. Post pics of where your ride has taken you.
  13. Where is that editor of a cycling magazine ...... can he possibly run a little segment on this and give Andrew, Anatomic Cycle Wear, Steer, Cycle Lab and Bikehub some exposure ? And I leave out Buff, only 1000 post paid up hub members get access to his sales.
  14. what is the back ground story here ? What is the outcome ?
  15. Uncle Velouria might have something to say about that.
  16. Ummmmm no! Faure waterworks descent I could not control the bike with one hand while the other is trying to take a pic going up that climb. And besides, all you would see is tar and a red garmin showing 7km/hr ...which is really boring.
  17. Because at 19km/hr, we all know that red makes you go faster.
  18. Pinged the main man.... he should report back soonish

Many years ago (will find the thread), Mrs Slowbee did the s2c. It was her first mountain bike race and her first stage race all thrown into one. She only started cycling in Jan, mainly roadbike so she could be fit enough for argus. We did the argus and then switched to mountain bike. Riding a few gravel trails, one or two bits of single track, but never going further than 30 km. Despite a fear of heights and apparent "lack" of skills we finished just about last everyday. But we finished and within the allowed time frames. Do not worry about technical ability. Worry about being fit enough to cycle on open flowy single track and uphill. All the uphills are just about on open roads. If you can ride uphill you will finish fine. EDIT: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/168139-mrs-slowbee-zero-2-sani-my-sani2c-adventure-2017/
  20. They closed that trail. Formed part of the larger Fanie Botha Trail. Linked with mac mac falls and into pilgrims rest as well. The safety aspect has been taken away significantly. Many are still safe - but have locks of doors and you need to collect keys etc. Wild Coast hike still works, the otter, 'kamma hike, swellendam, etc. But the number of them is getting smaller. Or the cost gets higher as you start to slack pack and have "guided" walks.
  21. I am sure someone has asked - but do Rapide not have a frame available ? I see the adds.... has someone reached out ?
  22. what is a restaurant ? I need happy, but no dopey
