  1. No, a 9sp Shimano MTB (any, SLX, XT, XTR, DEORE) will work though
  2. Me in a pic with my bike, rare ..... man we need some rain desperately on the Highveld!
  3. Still Russian and chips recovery?
  4. Another one of my many 'Kemosabi' rides... Closing in on 15 000k's as a MonsterCross that bike!
  5. To be fair he looks really really very sorry
  6. He's at Booysens SPCA if you want to adopt him ... [emoji12]
  7. Also got the auto assessment... Was less than expected but like some I had thoughts of just accepting and get that in my account post haste! Sanity prevailed though and a quick chat to my 'tax guy' suggested that they would just do what they do for me every year and check, would take a bit longer but would it be worth it? For sure! 4* the initial assessed amount in the SMS, assessment complete yesterday, no audit... Just waiting for the bank SMS now [emoji41] He charges me 300ZAR, well worth it [emoji16]
  8. Came into the bike shop for a brake bleed (Maguras), of course I had to have a go [emoji41] WOW! An absolute hoot, took me back to my days mucking about on a Maico trials bike with my older boet ....
  9. Anyone possibly one of these in the greater Johannesburg area I could come and use for a minute or 2 please? Quite urgent ...

Castigated was probably the wrong word sorry, I was really wondering why Ducati seem to have the opposite strategy or do I understand it wrong?
  12. That sign along Sun Valley road says 'PRIVATE PROPERTY no dumping will be prosecuted' ... Verbatim! I thought it best to drop some rubbish there next time so as not to get into trouble [emoji12]

From my none expert point of view... Honda are castigated for building a bike to suite a specific rider and Ducati for not adapting their bikes to the rider/riders?
  14. The wind in the south bringing tears to a grown man's eyes yesterday afternoon but at least it's a bit of 'racing' to get the heart rate up ...
  15. My favourite time of the day to ride, early enough to see the sunrise! Yes even in winter [emoji12] Am I the only one that finds it takes me a little while to get going in the morning, normally amble out and have to hammer back to be home at a reasonable hour!
  16. Good on you guys I'm impressed by your dedication, I clearly neglect my bikes in comparison! I'm one of those more riding, less faffing guys i suppose
  17. Haven't posted any pictures lately since every ride just seems to look the same here on the Highveld... Came across this dodgy looking scene yesterday morning Was informed by a local commuter passing by that he had it on good authority it's either a skelm who couldn't 'find the satellite' or 'wanting money from Sanlam' (sic)
  18. My daughter trained as a beautician and had to do I don't know how many of each treatment for her practical, I was coaxed into the leg wax malarkey [emoji849] Suffice to say for the next few weeks I only had to shave one leg....
  19. There was that time I had, at least in my opinion, a highly specced 26" bike advertised for a very reasonable price. My thinking was rather than it stood here in my garage unused that perhaps a youngster or lady could make good use of it. A fellow got in touch with me and proceeded to tell me how it was for his wife. A present and wanted to give her something decent, a bit short on cash could I lower the price a bit, I thought well good to see it going to someone deserving! Reduced the price by some 25% and he left with a big smile, I went to bed with a good feeling... Only to find that not 24hrs later he had the same bike up on Bikehub at double my original price [emoji35] People, strange things
  20. BRAKES dêmmit... Sorry just couldn't resist it is Friday after all [emoji12]
  21. In my experience most times it'll work 'better' after a good flush out with something like a silicone spray (don't be shy, spray liberally, leave overnight) ... Still an occasional 'missed' shift perhaps but it'll work. These things do wear out over time. As for stripping it, I've only ended up with a small bucket of bits... i.e not successful and parts are not available to buy. Others may however have a different take?
