Built some 'test' wheels with stuff I had lying around and from my good friend Pikey (generous and genuine chap that!) - carbon rims (24 hole) to MTB hubs (32 hole) ... #JustBecauseICan Sadly won't be riding them the next 2 weeks while I'm in Capetown ... They need some fine tuning.
With the heat in Gauteng at the moment our 'adopted' Lab Tess (she actually belongs to our cottage occupants) spends most of the day in the pool. Some of the time just lying on the step ....
Gone are the days that guys, weekend warriors and race snakes alike, arrived at the first race of the season fat and unfit! The pace at the start, mon dieu! Despite how many times I've done these events I like the way they always make small changes to the route that make it interesting.
Cracked the festive 500 this morning, I believe the local roadie bunch suffered big time with punctures this morning after the rain we had recently ... Gravelbike #FTW!
That would be a travesty, she is way too classy for that! Having said that he recently did some crazy stuff with her but I'll leave him to tell the story ...
