    POC Helmets

    Here ya go: https://www.puremotionsports.co.za/product/poc-tectal-race/
  2. I don't know if spacers exist which you could use between the bottom headset and the fork, but you can get an external bottom headset cup instead of the internal one (if that's what on there at the moment). Personally I would rather check if the fork travel can be extended. This should slacken the head angle a bit but in turn also raise the BB a bit, or if you've got the cash to spend, get an angleset.
  3. Yes they do: https://www.on-lynecomponents.com/collections/dropper-posts/products/1x-lever-upgrade-contour-v2-and-giant-compatible I'm using one on my Fox Transfer

    Chain line

I don't think the B-tension screw has any effect on the the chain dropping when back pedaling. I have the exact same issue and Iv'e seen this on many 1x setups. @Reden, remove the chain guide and then remove the spacer between the BB and the frame on the drive side. Then check if this makes any difference.
  5. This might help? https://www.specialized.com/se/en/bike-archive/2012/epic/epiccomp29/34975
  6. Its normal on a Trance. I had a 2012 model which did not have any bushes/mounting hardware at the bottom, only the top eyelet had.
  7. Hello What about these please? https://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/shimano-xt-m8020-pedals
  8. When the chain is running on the 42 cog, how far the the top pulley wheel from the cog? The B-tension screw might have been adjusted incorrectly which would place the the top pulley wheel to close to the 42 cog which will cause grinding.
  9. David is correct. I had a set of Mavic Crossmax ST's which I also wanted to convert to 20mm thru. The front hub is QR or 15mm Thru only. No option for 20mm.
  10. PM Hubber by the name of Remfactor, he has built some awesome trails in Tzaneen and might be able to advise on others routes as well.

  12. Yeah, 'most' bike manufacturers who have bikes in the trail/all mountain/enduro category have bikes with mismatched suspension travel. I doubt Transition do it do be different.

  14. I've got nothing against carbon and would love a set of nice enduro carbon hoops myself, but this extract from an article on Vitalmtb sums up my thoughts exactly: http://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/Wheelsets,44/Sixth-Element/27-5,20040#product-reviews/2861 "...At this point, we feel it is appropriate to look back at some of our recent experiences with carbon rims. During the course of our testing over the past 12 months, we have documented the following carbon rim failures: three SRAM wheels, one Giant wheel, one Intense wheel, one e*thirteen wheel, one ENVE wheel, and one Factor (Novatec) wheel. Whilst it is probably too early to call an end to the carbon wheel trend, as a rider you should know what you are getting into. Compared to aluminum, carbon wheels will at some point break as opposed to dent or deform. Both scenarios can be ride-ending, although chances are much higher of being able to salvage an aluminum rim trailside or at all for that matter. And of course, in case you do end up needing to replace a rim, your wallet won’t like the carbon option. In the case of the wheelset on review here, our two incidents would both have been covered by warranty, but you’re still looking at potential downtime and the general inconvenience of extra faffing that comes with it. Choose knowingly, especially if you ride hard!..." As far as I know, cSixx is local as well: https://www.csixx.co.za/collections/rims/products/enduro-9series-rim
  15. IXS Flow, very comfy. I've had mine for more than two years now and they are still perfect. More than R800 though but worth it.

  17. I don't have any experience with Dianese of Race face pads but below is what I've used so far: Fox Racing Launch: Very comfy, feels like a knee warmer but they are not meant for hard knocks and only really help against abrasions. Good fox XC/Trail loops. But in my experience they did not last long enough. The stitching around the 'pad' came loose after 2 months or so with almost no crashing and they don’t offer any real protection against hard knocks on rocks, roots, tree stumps etc. Leatt 3DF Hybrid: I've not had these very log but so far I am happy with them. They can feel bulky at first but they so sit comfortably. They can get hot on warm days and on longer rides though which is why I only use them mainly for DH and when doing Enduro's on really rocky terrain. Will I use them for trail riding or longer rides? No. But they do have a huge amount of protection though and feel indestructible. IXS Flow: The best pads I've owned so far. About 2.5 years old and still going strong. Incredibly comfortable. Can wear them all day long. The have a decent amount of protection and they have definitely saved my knees a couple of times. Only downside is that the XmatterTM protection foam (the actual pad, similar to the Leatt 3DF stuff) hardens up on really cold mornings. I will happily wear these for anything form XC loops, to full on Enduros all day long. Will I buy a pair again? Hell yes!

  20. Slight highjack. Has anybody tried the Maxxis Shorty? The official description is "A mid-spike for loose or slightly muddy conditions; more versatile than the WetScream". I would like to know if it will be suitable for dryer conditions as well.
  21. In order of 'toughness' regarding casings: Schwalbe: Performance Maxxis: Non-EXO TR Schwalbe: Snakeskin TL Easy Maxxis: EXO/TR Schwalbe: Super Gravity Maxxis: DD (Double Down) On top of that, Schwalbe and Maxxis offer selected tires in DH casing, My advice would be to get a faster rolling but tougher (Super Gravity/DD) tire for the rear like Rock Razor, Nobby Nic, Aggressor, Ardent, DHR II.... And then a lighter casing grippy tire for the front (Snakeskin/EXO) like Magic Mary, Hans Dampf, DHF, High Roller, or even Onza Ibex or Citius
  22. They will be using the C-Quent, which is the 'user friendly' version of the Inline. Hopefully it will be more reliable.
  23. But you can get the conversion kit separately, thru axle drop outs and axle. Will set you back about 1k.
