  1. For R5000 you can get awesome second hand deals, I prefer second hand to new, but being a newbie, it might not be the best option.
  2. I see that, and I raise you a Jeff lenofsky with lycra, clipps and 29'er... Lopes has been known to ride SPD's PS: May look like 26'er, byt Jeff is over 2m, making bike look small.
  3. I suggest these.. not to over the top and most "Flatsters" will tolerate http://bikereviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/five-ten-freerider-zebra-shoes.jpg
  4. Jeans and T-shirts allowed? Edit: When I wear jeans (Levi) I know I hit jumps/drops better
  5. Question is when are we going to get threads like this: Where did the"Where did the "I wish I was as good as the flat pedallers" thread go?" thread go?
  6. This thread might help: Not true DJ bikes, but can handle it in their stride, as well as do some cross country Hardtails: http://www.thehubsa....duty-hardtails/ Full sus: http://www.thehubsa....ro-the-restart/
  7. Rather not remove chainguide I have single saint on my enduro bike and SLX with washers for single blade on my OnOne hardtail. Both nice cranks, but Saint is just absolutely awesome and porn
  8. used to be able to clear it easily... when I was still at school. Had one of these, but Trial fitted handlebars and size 13". 1m is really not that exceptional... If you move in certain circles of mountainbiking (Trails, DJ, Street) http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p3pb1897148/p3pb1897148.jpg
  9. Sorry bout that, changed it accordingly;)
  10. ... Location: Stellenbosch, Wednesday means "Klein Saterdag"
  11. So with all this faffing of Flats vs clipless, I thought I'd poll this.
  12. No he he didn't cross, He's having problems on big front, small back... Which is your heaviest gear and chain is straight. only piece I can add...Chainguide. But im no expert in gears - " the chain is slipping only when in big front Blade & Smallest Cog" - "Only slips when in the 26t blade to 11t cog" For the bottom case it crosses, but initial statement, was what confused most.
  13. Feel like such an idiot now, found this. Seems my QR went lose when I was turning it, but only finding this hidden diagram, I found you can tighten it with the screw deep inside. So whenever someone has this problem again, here is the diagram By the way its fixed http://digitalhippie.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/rockshox_maxle_lite_rear_2011_user_manual.jpg
  14. Learnt my lesson now atleast. But I have to carry a spanner everywhere. Customised my 12mm solid bolt to fit my 9mm QR dorpouts, which gives bit more rigidity, but they need a number 17 spanner to loosen, haha
  15. Order is in... 700 bucks for a moment of absent mindedness
  16. Just read up a bit now, seems I have the 35mm chassis version on my fork, which is good news, as the have in stock. The Revelation/sector has the 32mm chassis. Now my only question is can I use the bolt, as I dont want the QR again. Will see if I can find crow RockShox Lyrik RC2L 2-Step Air - Maxle Lite FR 20mm With 160 or 170mm travel options, the ability to choose the best damping system for your needs, and a new Maxle Lite thru axle, the Lyriks already epic offering just got leaner and meaner. Sure, the efficient and nimble 35mm chassis design will get you to the top of the mountain. But its the smooth control on the downhill that will drive you to go back to the top again and again. Travel - 115 to 160mm Coil U-Turn, Weight - 2426g (5.34 lbs) Coil U-Turn Damping - Mission Control, Dual Flow rebound Adjustments - External Beginning-Stroke Rebound / High- and Low-Speed Compression, External Travel: Coil U-Turn, Spring via Preload: Coil Steerer Options - Aluminum 1 1/8", Crown - Forged, Hollow Al 66 TV Upper Tubes - 35mm, 7000 Series Straight Wall Aluminum, Low Friction Anodized (With Travel Gradients) Lowers - Magnesium, Post Disc Mount, Maxle Lite 20mm Axle Recommended Rear Shock - Monarch Plus, Monarch Maximum Rotor Size - 210mm Color Options - White
  17. So I had my lyric for 3 hours, and I think I managed to break the QR mechanism (Turn it while flipped closed) . http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Images/Models/Full/54647.jpg So I checked, CRC is out of stock: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=54647 Now where would I find one? I was also wondering, would one of the following axles work? Which is a bit more idiot proof? They say however 35mm, while the light is 32mm.. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=54648 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=42219
  18. Ordered mine this morning:)
  19. Luckily I don't need to defend my statement
  20. Luckily i live in Cpt, so that my bike doesnt accidently end up at the "said" workshop! Flex is never good! From flex comes, fatigue... Which later breaks
  21. Lol Sounds like my grandfather! But agree, thats why I always ride last year's models.. you get the at 1/2 or less their original price if you have a keen eye for bargains
  22. No, just came across it in my daily gumtree routing, moerse bargain! I still prefer my intense 6.6:)
  23. Compared to this Old reign bargain: http://www.gumtree.co.za/cp-sports-bicycles-fitness-in-gardens-oranjezicht/giant-reign-3-mountain-bike-504264141 Someone please buy, haha
  24. Most important part of technical DH/Enduro riding. I re-ride some sections for days on end, until I dream of it at night, haha
