I'm a fairly big chap (90-odd kgs) and I run a 180 up front and a 160 in the back. PLENTY stopping power.

Yeah they use that long lever with the guage that runs around the wheel, but it only really works if the bend is minor. Also, every time you do this the hangar weakens and then... walking home.

I still have the little pieces of a Carbon cage from an XO rear mech. Made a lovely zing sound as the bottom pulley came flying past me after having met with my rear spokes... 20 km walk home from there (Sabie Classic)

Yesterday we had a great ride there, and for the first time I actually saw an official enforce the "no helmet no ride" rule. That was deeply impressive even if, as Nick likes to point out, it isn't my head and shoudn't bug me. The Groenkloof folk have gone further even, in producing a lovely full-color map of both the MTb and hiking trails, and added to that a bird, plant and mammal listing for those avid spotters. I also thought it was no biggie until JB opened up my fork and showed me the fantastic scoring on the stanchion. I now have a grating noise on every compression to remind me that there shouldn't be oil peeing out of your fork. Oh yes, and mine is a F100X, but the seals etc are the same.DawieO2009-10-06 11:41:29
