My condolences mate---I know how it feels to lose those closest to you. Last Wednesday I lost a lady that worked for me...26yrs old to TB... We feel pain when they leave us but we should celebrate how they lived.. "DT"

There is a double lane both ways to accommodate large traffic volumes---however the concern is the Emergency lane that cyclists use..that too is broad for a decent size group to use--- However it's the motorists that make use of the emergency lane to overtake / speed and do whatever they please....If one looks at the developments taking place on that stretch of road & the chaos it's causing it's not hard to see that the Grader's/trucks ride mostly in the emergency lane... I agree that we have quite a few other roads we can make use of instead of H/P..Ontdekkers for me can lead you out to many of these roads for short or long rides....Truth be told I keep away from H/P except the last piece of tar from 14th avenue going up the hill to Ontdekkers... I was on it Sunday morning ..... noticed the recklessness & bad behaviour of drivers....guess I will not be using it anylonger either... It's a shame because it's a road that links us cyclists to some of the popular routes... "DT"

I agree to water being an alternative...a prefer these small water sache's to cups of whatever they serving on the day...Also on these races we sometimes take up road space...why don't they always have people handing out stuff on both sides of the road..as in the case with Bateleur being on the wrong side of the road.....?? No but I was gonna use the bike this morning for the support of this campaign..maybe an excuse to ride anyway. But our Head of Security wants me to put the bike in the basement & I have a big office...imagine that...forget it I have a car.. "DT"

Eish I must say..when I saw Mr. Lange on S/cycling chatting...at the Race for Victory I was parked opposite some SA "Pro's"....as I was getting ready some folks passed gestures to them: nice bike's / hello etc... tell ya what if I was a Pro I'd be more friendlier with the average joe's of cycling because it's us that make races what it is---will not mention names but certain Pro's male & female are so arrogant it's unbelievable... Hey I like their machines but as I was staring at the hardware the girls guy/friend/boyfriend saw me looking & yes I paid attention to her in Lycra too (pretty curvy) he wrapped his arms around her waist all the while looking at me....grow up I thought & I had this grin on my face ..
