  3. I like things hard....whether I feel it with my thumb or my hand.....all this talk makes me horny...gauges are unreliable so I go on what I can get out of the pump..generally I doubt we far off the intended / recommended pressures anyway.. "DT"
  4. Also did the race..very sore on Sunday..stretched alot yesterday..Drinks?..I had Glutamine post race all day Sunday & some yesterday..legs feel fine today.. "DT"

I don't like Cajee's & yes I am allowed to say that---their service is hopeless/they have buying power hence they can afford cheaper pricing/I tested the market when I priced my new groupset..Cajees could not match what I got it for even with that buying power...BUT alas if they were to match it or came in even R50 cheaper I'd have taken it... I support my LBS like DR said but hey cheap is cheap---first if I'd tested the market but I have played them up against each other for the best price I could get--- Kinda reminds me when I bought my bakkie--I visited every bank for the best interest rate & mentioned what the other would give me..eventually I got 9%....all the way from 16.5%....shop around !!!   6. I have 2 12-25 105 Cassettes 9sp..the plan is to upgrade to 105 10sp which I have not yet fitted. Was thinking can one convert the 9sp cassettes to 10sp because they still in pretty good shape ??? even if it's to train on...I got the 11-23 cassettes for racing.. I received the new groupset today & was looking at it...However is the above possible ?? If not I have the option of either selling the old groupset or build another bike for the hell of it.. "DT"
  7. Train on Conto Gator's: dislike their steel radial...otherwise heavy tyre..good roadholding & puncture resistance... Race: GP4000---foldable/raced on them & will be on sunday.. So far no flats on both in over a year.... "DT"

  15. I think saddle height is so minimal that if at all that. But speaking of which I may have to adjust mine say down 1mm if I feel a change from what I'm currently using to that with the 172.5 I will have on soon.... I get the idea here that like everything else that different strokes for different folks...some said 11-23..others said 12-23 cassettes....for various reasons mostly based on "their" experience & riding style....for races with extreme hills 12-25.... Be that as it may I am looking forward to riding with the new groupset and now especially with the change to the longer crank..watch this space.. "DT"

Gumpole / WW..just spoke to Arran on bike set-up's you referred to..turns out that the 172 will not be a bad option as the leverage I'll get will be greater, however it would not adversly affect my riding in high cadence per say....he is 189 in height & he opted for something higher than 175 and he is happy with it... choices choices.....   17. I agree on the expense but since I am upgrading I might as well get the right thing: True they mention bigger gears but personally I prefer high cadence ..... I have a 56 & it came with a 170 which I must add have been comfy with all this time...no real complaints. Perhaps then the best thing will be to stay with the 170 ???? If that's what you saying .. Sorry guys something went wrong there...asince these okes praises are sung from on high I believe if they knew what they were doing with their measurements they supposed to tell me that 170 was too short???? I got my info from books on the Tour de France Pro's like Mercx / Hinualt etc.....these measurements were taken on your height/inseam.... "DT"
  19. ....after my massage last night we went thro' some books...my inseam measurement dictates a crankarm length of 172 up to 175. I am currently riding a 170 and with the new groupset I am advised to go for 172 minimum. Now when you buy a bike or go for an upgrade are they not supposed to "advise / tell you what crankarm length you supposed to have instead of playing around with saddle heights / reach to the bars etc ????? Also on going for set-up's to "someone who know's what they doing" since these oke's praises are
  20. Yeah I have been thinking of my approach to this race...big gears for short periods if I have to...otherwise ride it like I trained... the Reserve is going to be something else to reckon with... "DT"
  21. Have you tried Solomon's man????? I got my groupset there this weekend and no - one coud beat their price....who knows tell them what prices you got & if they can better it...was worth the drive to PTA for me...SAVE WHERE YOU CAN... "DT"
  22. We had this one a few weeks ago....there is no route map per say...It's a new route, Ride mag (2 issues ago) gives you a pretty good idea as to the profile.... All I know is it's gonna be a tough one....Are you prepared ???? "DT"

  24. I have Pro's..like the feel, no pinching on the fingers etc....still fits well..with the double handlebar tape I have extra comfort... "DT"
  25. I service my wheels myself too..on occasion I take it to the lbs...but I reckon Pro-staff does it for me....don't really care what the shop looks like as long as the staff has customer service as top notch it's cool with me "DT"
