Try doing more cross training. I come from a triathlon background but over the last year and a half have done more cycling and less running in preparation for Epic as I need to improve my technical skills. I have found I have gained a bit of weight and am struggling to lose it on only cycling. I have now started to add some running sessions in and am dropping the few kilo's I was struggling to on only cycling.
I'm wanting to know if it's safe to go alone and whether there is water to be found on the route or does one need to go fully stocked (2 water bottles) for the long route.
I either take the N1 from the Foreshore and then go up over Lower Church bridge into Woodstock or join the MyCiti bus route from the beginning and then again go up onto Lower Church bridge and into Woodstock. From there it's straight through to Liesbeeck, Durban Rd and Pinelands
I also have the Garmin 910xt. I was very worried about the size as I have very thin wrists but it has not been an issue at all. It is also very light weight.
