  1. okay, okay, there's a bit more of a back story to it that takes a bit of the lustre out of the story. My old man bought it in a fit of the must haves, and after using it a few times decided it was too unwieldy for him, and with his Shopsmith, he didn't *really* need such a large saw. So he bought a smaller lighter Bosch pro unit, and asked me if I wanted the Mak. Brought it back home in my carry-on luggage.
  2. Just got given, yes... GIVEN... one of these. Makita 5903rk 235mm saw with multiple blades. Rip, crosscut, multi and metal. Now I can get rid of my pesky table saw. Grrrr. Hate that thing.
  3. Ideal for me. I fail on one point though. Still, tailor made.
  4. I'll take them! Next time I come through to Slumerset I'll drop you a line
  5. yeah, I know Lombards... LOL. Got it HORRIBLY wrong!
  6. WTF did he do!? Stay seated over it or something? That's a rollable feature...
  7. Since always. Elixir 5's, Elixir XX, Codes, Guide RS. All faultless. Just needs to be bled PROPERLY to work at their optimum level, which will blow anything by Shimano completely out the water, IMO. But now I'm on Hope. I just love the extra control that comes with bigger brakes.
  8. yeah, the CODEs should take the XT's, rip them off the bike, stomp them, eat them then crap them out in the woods somewhere in a pre-dug hole 6 feet deep... The Guides do that to XT's already. The CODEs are a level above...
  9. I might just, eh. Will send it to my wife to tart it up a bit. Get the levels sorted and check on the focus, and see if it can be printed. Otherwise I'll have to do it again!
  10. Green belt and Rhodes. Tried the Kirstenbosch divert, but didn't finish the climb cos I was pressed for time and wasn't sure of the time I'd take to get back vs using the normal route. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. More rocks for the last step-down Mikey's clearing of the "clay rocks" was critical to our success, I tell you... This was the base of the step-down's kicker From the top Luke admiring our handiwork. BTW - if you want a jump-tester, this oke is your guy... Different view incl clay overlay Finished article from the side The slave.... in his element.
  12. Building in Tokai, DH3. The lower end, in to the quarry. Step Down into the quarry... all nice and renewed and floaty From the top looking in to the old step-up that is getting a re-work (in the distance) "American Ben" working his magic on the step-up's booter... Boy is a demon with his long spade and enough leverage Again Your's truly and my slave All of us getting the clay out of the re-worked landing of the step-up (gonna be PIMP) Luke loading the bakkie with g3 Luke, Deon, some hired help and mongooser (cole) loading the bakkie with g3 unloading the g3 to serve as the base for the landing on the step-up. Mikey chilling in the 'barrow. "Slave" Michael, Pierre and Luke (the maniac) laying the foundation for the "DHF Stepdown" into the lower quarry (those rocks are heavy - they were a challenge to deadlift... my arms are a bit sore...)
  13. rest of his vids are awesome as well. But if you want to see what it takes to come 2nd at on EWS stage..... This is Dan Atherton. And he was 30s behind 1st place on this particular stage.
  14. Saw it this morning... It's a real sternum-punch!!!
  15. yeah, that's what they're fetching in splittie california mode. Damn, that's my perfect car. Seriously. If I had one of those I'd be delirious with joy. A bakkie will have to settle... LOL.
  16. Well, made good on my word. Entered. Let the training begin. What have I done
  17. Ups aren't timed. Downs are. Individual starts 30s to 1 min apart. Ride against yourself and those others behind and in front of you. If someone catches you pull over as soon as you can to let them past as theyre clearly MUCH faster than you. Multiple stages across technical terrain incl DH trails. Drink beer after. Talk ***. Enjoy.
