  1. And metric only. Still gonna opt for the old vivid R2C coil when I do upgrade.
  2. HAHAHAHAHA!!! So he vloeks it all the way to the top. Gotcha.
  3. LOL. If he's changed his car in the last year, then yeah it's him. Singlespeed glory!? How the hell does he pedal the thing. Must be a strong mofo.
  4. No, it's just that I've known Kerwin for a while now and I always see him pushing & riding up Tokai and the other places he rides. That boy kills bikes! But no, the guy I'm thinking of definitely isn't Kerwin.
  5. True to a degree, except when it comes to different lever lengths and pivot positions on the RD. So. While an 8/9 speed shifter will tell an 8/9 speed derailleur to move Xcm when it shifts because the lever arm on the derailleurs are the same length (ie for every Xcm the shifter moves the cable the derailleur moves Xcm) the lever lengths on the newer derailleurs are different so if a shifter moves the cable Xcm the derailleur will move 1.1*Xcm.
  6. That's fine though. 9 so cassette I presume? 10sp chain is narrower than 9 so no clearance issues and the 9sp shifter yells the Rd where to go.
  7. Think he had a lyrik (old one) on there, so maybe he has a pike now.
  8. No. I don't have a glory, and there's someone other than you that rides a glory up to the trailhead. Seen him at Jonkers a few times.
  9. Short answer - no. The gear spacing is different and your chain will be too wide at the outer edges to fit between the sprockets without affecting shifting.
  10. have I told you about that dude that rocks up at various trail centres with his 66 / lyrik shod glory, and rides it up? Well, he exists. And he does.
  11. Oh, crap. Didn't see it was a mirror. In that case you may need to make the recess in the wood deeper (wider) as well as dowelling the joint. Biscuit may be a tad large for the wood, though, which means that a dowel would be the better option. Reason I say you may have to make the groove deeper is that it looks as if the wood has shrunk, so you either have to make the glass smaller, or make the recess that it fits into, larger. Good thing is that the mirror seems to be held in place by a frame, so it may be an easy job. Take out the mirror, mock up the door, see how much material needs to be removed and then remove with either a router or tablesaw set at a very shallow depth (same depth as the recess) That, or take it to a carpenter to sort out. Should be able to fix it in a short amount of time.
  12. IMO this is a FAR better race structure than XCM. The effort that you need to put in in order to just finish the damn thing is nothing short of amazing. PROPER racing, this. Maybe, one day.
  13. Okay then that answers the question around seasoning. It wasn't. As Porqui says, best to take it apart and reglue with either a biscuit or a dowel as extra support. But that's only if it'll fit without making an adjustment to the central bit of the door. Which you may have to do as well. Just 2mm or so should do it.
  14. Whiplash and The Accountant. 2 brilliant movies
  15. Others already have. Even though they're a relatively small drop (35mm I think?) they're a marvellous addition for nervous descenders. Nervous in the XCO discipline, meaning bloody good compared to the general population. I expect more to adopt droppers this year. As for full sus - it's a good thing on technical climbs as well, as it gives more traction when compared to hardtails. Hardtails are great for sudden bursts of power and non technical climbs, but when it comes to tech the solid rear triangle and lack of squish tends to result in deflection from obstacles rather than absorption, therefore resulting in less total grip.
