  1. Anyone wearing that in our conditions deserves to get burnt like that. Froome-boy should know better than that. Or at least put sunblock on, ffs.
  2. I'm looking at that, wishing we had that type of soil on the mountain... Sigh.
  3. Btw - hospital plans must not be confused with medical aids that only provide cover in hospital. 2 totally different things.
  4. He's talking about the old Life insurance type of hospital plan like the Liberty Medical Lifestyle plan that pay you a cash amount per day you spend in hospital up to a predetermined maximum, and the amount depends on the severity of the injury and which room you're in (icu vs high care) This compares to med aid which has no limits on daily cover and and and... The 2 cannot be compared. Hospital plans are more like gap cover in that they are designed to bridge the gap between med aid and the charges that you incur from the specialists. In most cases the Hospital Plan would be sorely lacking in cover purely from a rand perspective... and he's right. Hospital plan patients are treated like normal non med aid clients. Pay up front cos there's no guarantee on payment. Generally speaking
  5. Yes. Generally speaking there is a max capacity ito the amount of teeth between the 2 blades.
  6. Jy moet met jou werk se makelaar praat. Dis sy responsibility om vir jou die verskillende options te wys, en vir jou te advise. Bonitas is 'n goeie mediese fonds - niks vout daarvan. Maar as jou werk se jy MOET op Discovery wees...
  7. Key word there was "casualty" - means he was never actually booked into the hospital, and was just treated as an outpatient. All med aids treat outpatients pretty much the same - it comes out of your available savings / day to day allowance etc. If he had been booked in, that would have been a different story...
  8. LOL. It's a misconception that is useful, in that there used to be one, and docs still mostly base their fees on the old "med aid rate" The council, together with professionals, are still trying to hash out the ideal base rates for induvidual procedures, appliances, items and so on. Until that has happened, the term shall remain. All med aids have their own payment rate for services. Though they are different, they are mostly around the same net rand amount. Again, loosely based on the old NHRPL price list (the list used to determine Med Aid Rates) When the NHRPL list was rendered unconstitutional, there was nothing to base payments on. SO they used it as a guideline, as many specialists still do. They then determine their payment rates as a factor of that NHRPL rate. The 100% / 200% / 300% is expressed as a factor of each company's med aid payment rate (the Discovery Health Rate or DHR for one) But yeah - it doesn't "exist" per se, but it is still used as a term to make it easier to understand.
  9. Keycare Plus has no MSA. It has its own rules and regs, which are entirely different to any other of Discovery's med aids...
  10. Yes they will. Depending on the severity of the injury, they will either take you to the nearest network hospital or admit you and work on you until you are stable, then take you to a network hospital. If it's just a broken arm or something, you will need to go to the casualty department of one of the network hospitals or day clinics to have X Rays done and the injury assessed. The referral process on the Keycare plans is only if you need to see a specialist for a planned procedure, and doesn't apply in cases of emergency. More to this, but it can only really be discussed with a broker - give yours a call and he will be able to help you... Has to do with earnings and so on, as well as determining whether the Keycare option is right for you. Unfortunately if it's not, you can't upgrade except at the end of the year so it's either wait it out or go to another provider to find a plan that works for you.
  11. It does, but I understand the philosophy behind it. And I find it intriguing. More direct steering, better trail manners and so on.
  12. Mondraker's newest offering... Sauce: http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Mondraker-Dune-XR-Review.html
  13. The Crow has spoken. And when The Crow speaks, people should listen. In the words of some others here... His ****, this guy knows it.
  14. 120mm Reba or Revelation. Nothing else. Truly perfect performance and no fuss setup. No CTD issues like the Fox equivalents have.
  15. Vipa. Exclusivity, a proper suspension platform, a true trail weapon and something completely different to the spazzes.
  16. No, I don't. Button doesn't have the killer instinct, Hamilton would have crashed into people too many times and probably gone the same way as Webber with repeated mechanical failures and mid-field finishes. Grosjean would probably have been up there. The ONLY person I reckon who would have given Vettel a go would have been Raikkonen. Rosberg - almost. Certainly he would stand a better chance than Hamfistilton.
  17. You think he ISN'T working? Did you see what Webber did with exactly the same car? Yeah - thought so. To say he's great cos of the car he drives is to do him a massive dis-service. It's like saying Greg Minnaar is a great rider and won world champs 'cos he rides Santa Cruz, or that Gary Perkin is a great photographer 'cos he has a good camera. Those are only the tools he has. He still has to pilot the thing, press the loud pedal and steer the thing around the corners. And you know what? Last year it WASN'T the fastest car on the grid until the later stages. So yeah. He does have a good car. But to ascribe his success to the car alone is pure hogwash.
  18. 'cos then you come out with less space under the bike. Put the seat down, and you have quite a bit more space now that the bars aren't in the way. Quite a bit..
