  1. Haha! Musta been fun to watch the conflict play out on his face! Must say tho - I like my HD. Keen to try the MM!
  2. Hey guys, security is actually in the process of being increased. Not cool - thanks for the heads up KS.
  3. Btw. I felt the same way about my revelation as you do. Truly superb fork. But that circus expert of yours is a different animal.
  4. 100% dude. 160mm reference was more so that I could get some of that 66deg head angle action! Plus. I am kinda a lardass. The beefier stanchions make me feel safer.
  5. Yo dude. Yeah. The reign is a very good option, real bang for buck type stuff. That and the commencal meta am, if you can find a 2013 model at the shops still. As for the 2014 bikes - the reign is being replaced by the Trance SX 650b, which is still a bloody good bike, but will be more pricey than the reign thanks to the usd exchange rate and distributors taking their inflationary cut as well. A good place to start would be www.commencal.co.za - they may still have some clearance items (old stock) but still some very very good deals to be had on there. Think the meta 5.5 or meta 6, or the Meta am. On the giant side 2013 is the reign, 2014 is the trance sx. Also a very under rated bike is the mongoose teocali. They generally go for quite good prices, with reasonable spec. But for your 35k, you'll get a really really good bike. As for spaz - some places are selling old stock Enduro 26ers for VERY good prices. Very good bike as well. Welcome to the club, and happy hunting!
  6. Once you've put the Allen key in to the slot, turn it clockwise or anti clockwise to set the reach of the lever to your liking.
  7. Looks like the adjustment screw is sticking out the front. If so, it should have a very small hex key slot for you to insert an Allen key into in order to adjust it.
  8. Afraid that this time, sidewinder, it's the USD that's shafting us.
  9. yeah - and I get a kick-ass build with more AWE factor. Anyway. I already have my dream-ish sorta bike. She really really is good to me. When I ride her, that is.
  10. Don't lead her astray, Matt! You'd just wanna swipe 'em for your own bike!
  11. and that would mean having to give up this beauty... Which just needs a dropper post.
  12. So yea, basically like Hayley's, but with a few changes. And a ticket price of R 103,000 give or take a few thousand

  14. I have to ask - what about his current SLX stock?!
  15. Oh yes. Weimaraners are slightly more goofy looking...
  16. take the alu one, upgrade the wheels to a custom built wheelset built by William Keith in Somerset West, buy a dropper. That is all.
  17. No it's not. It's jelly WITH custard!
  18. yet another reason to get wheels and rims with stock standard bearings, spokes and nipples - that can be fixed easily and without any fuss.
  19. based on the fact that proprietary wheels are built by machines, that always have tolerances in them and can never match the expertise of a true, experienced human wheel builder. Yes - they're more expensive. But they also have their own problems. A proprietary spoke arrangement, a reportedly finnicky freehub assembly (admittedly only in older models, but still) and a horrible nipple. I'd choose custom wheels over a proprietary wheelset any day of the week.
