  1. Ass-rapingly bad. if the local guys had had stock, the cost would have been R 1,430 or so. Total cost to me - R 1,798.00 Okay - shipping was refunded by CRC so the actual cost was R 1,599.00 Duties were R 272.10 VAT was R 177.80 Disbursement fee was R 150 Shoes (incl shipping) were R 1100 (GBP went up that day - sigh) BUT - it was a gamble. I know guys who have had shoes come through duty free, when they ordered the shoes alone. But do I regret it? No. R 1,599 vs probably even more had I asked for the local guys to bring in more stock. And I had them in 8 days (crappy DHL) vs probably a month waiting for the distributors waiting to bring in a container full of them and other shoes / equipment.
  2. oh and they do fit. Just put them on now, you bastard...
  3. shutup, you! I've waited 8 days for these, after paying fpr dhl express delivery...
  4. yeah... I'm quite jealous, actually. Never been to singapore or Aus
  5. They FINALLY arrived. After being made in China, shipped to Belfast, ordered off CRC, shipped to London, then Australia, then on to SINGAPORE, and finally in my grubby hands. My one pair of shoes that has officially travelled (almost) as much as I have.
  6. I officially DESPISE you now, v12... those would have made my already disc compatible hardtail frame a very happy lady...
  7. Muuuuuch better. Mind you, the one I tested WAS Crow's, on his Mojo HD, and it was his Lev 150mm so it *could* have been a combo of the bike and the post... And fair enough. If you're used to it, then great - I just prefer to drop my saddle when things point down, and then when I need to pedal again (cos I'm an unfit lazy lard ass bastid) then it's aaaaall the way down and I feel like Erckel on a tricycle. If you know what I mean...
  8. Thought you had an SS rigid boytjie... But really rouxtjie, they're worth their miniscule extra weight. Seriously. And the newer ones aren't NEARLY as much of a maintenance problem as the Crap Brothers ones were. Or the early incarnations of the reverb.
  9. On an xc bike that's only going to see jeep track, it will be nothing more than a "me too" item and see hardly any use. The more aggressive / technical your riding is, the more you'll realize that they should be standard equipment. I didn't feel that way until I ride a bike with one though. And it's not just drop on the way down and then that's it. It's drop even it gets technical, raise again for a pedal section, drop for tech and so on. It really is a ride changer.
  10. Safe to assume you haven't ridden with one then, roux?
  11. Oh jeepers yes he did! BTW - Email inbound...
  12. yeah, but think about it - when you're seated, there's no pressure on the front. Well, hardly any at least. With you out of the saddle, feet on the pedals, your weight is pretty centred on the bike. The thing is - Normal Riding Position is on the pedals, out the saddle, in the "attack" position. Not in the saddle taking a rest.
  13. it didn't. At least not yet. I just see the pic and think "eina". Pshhht!
  14. 6 cracked ribs and a collapsed lung later, yeah. Plus I have all the flexibility of a scaffolding pole. So me needs one.

  16. Also depends what bike you have. No use taking an AM bike to have a pro fitment done, as they'll want to give you a 200mm stem and stretch you out like a mofo to get into the optimal pedalling position - which isn't what an AM bike is about. For XC, yeah - definitely, get a fitment done. Anything else - ride what's comfortable.
  17. Patches' link to THIS is one that should be followed. AWESOME bike. I've seen it (been into the BS in question a few times) and it's an awesome bike.
  18. I checked out the obike option for the laddie yesterday, and would have posted had there been any stock. Sadly, none in the AM segment. They have a Force Carbon, Teocali, Khyber Elite and a couple of others listed, but no stock.
