How can that be done though? By using the very same samples that were taken at the time? By cross-examination of the "witnesses" whose statements, through a normal court of law would not be taken as evidence, as they have previous relationships with the accused and are more than likely emotionally tied to the outcome of the case? Yeah, for sure... but the thing is that he's been investigated for how long now? And never been found guilty. With the latest spate of investigations against him, a lack of proof was cited and that meant the charges weren't going to be pursued. Now the USADA doesn't agree with that ruling, and they're, once again, sharpening their spears in the hope to find a white and silver sparkly 6 legged unicorn that breeds flying pigs. This whole investigation SMACKS of vendetta. If there is some proof out there, then bring it out. There either has to be some irrefutable proof if they are going on like this (and don't cite the tens of ex-competitors who lost to him, and therefore have an axe to grind in order to satisfy their own delusions of grandeur) or they are being headed by somebody who cannot, just cannot, get rid of the half-scale everest sitting on their shoulders. Hearsay is, unfortunately, just hearsay.

Erm, you would have found the same (if not better) performance by just changing to Ice Tec rotors as Maxxis has done. No need to waste additional money by swapping out an entire brake system, just because the rotors and / or hoses are the root of the problem. It's like trading your Audi TTRS in for a 135i because the air-con needs re-gassing.

Oh, ffs. The commissaires made a ruling. Live with it. KE / DG (or their manager) did not appeal. Live with it. That means that they probably thought the distinction & ruling to be fair, and (I'm speculating now) that there wasn't even the question that was asked by their manager in the first place. Something along the lines of "I didn't ask, so I didn't get the okay, so that means that we didn't get permission". Either that, or pure speculation by the media, or a quote taken out of context and edited to make it seem as if they weren't given permission. I know people who make those sort of "intuitive" leaps on a daily basis. Fact is, guys, that the commissaires raised the issue themselves. That shows impartiality. They also interpreted the rules in light of this particular "transgression" - that is their right, as commissaires. Referees, if you will.

Dude, the thing is that it's not "end of" that's why race comissaires are there. To interpret the rules, and determine whether a transgression (or perceived transgression) was in contravention of the rules, and to make a ruling on it. It may have been that, due to the nature of the weather, and the fact that it was not mechanical or nutritional assistance, and had a direct relation to a competitor's health, that the "transgression" was judged not severe enough to warrant a penalty. In any event, as Michael outlined above, rules are rules but some need to be bent in certain instances. This may well have been one. If KE & DG had protested on the basis that Burry & Christof were allowed jackets, but they not, then they may have had a leg to stand on. But then, their manager may just have been blowing smoke up some peoples' asses when he said that the organizers "didn't allow" him to give KE & DG the jackets. He may never have asked, and then said "I wasn't allowed" Not the first time that would have happened...

The shoe clips you speak of here are known as "clipless" or "spd" pedals, or "cleats" The Toe Straps that HaydenWilson recommended are the "power straps" to which you refer. They are also called toe clips at times. HIGHLY dangerous. As for cleats, they are good. And I use them. BUT - I'm going ot move over to flats soon, to see how they work...
