  1. A lot of people, Hairy... I was actually quite perturbed at the amount of jeeptrack warriors in Tokai the other day. Bypassing DH3/Meurants/DH4/Roots and rather doing the JT all the way down. NOOOOOOO!
  2. Haven't taken delivery yet, so I can't...
  3. GR, if you have the REBA on the front, you can increase it to 120mm without having to break the bank. There's a spacer in the fork itself that can be removed to ramp the travel up to its maximum level. REBA forks have 3 settings, changed through the addition / removal of spacers.
  4. I've lent my xc bike's wheels to a mate of mine (showing him what a proper wheel / tyre combo feels like) so am forced to use my dh bike for all riding. All 25 kilos of bobbing, nasty ass descending machine of her. DAMN, is that a workout!!!
  5. That's because they are going for ultimate max weight alone. If you want to push the max amount of weight, regularly, and not constantly break PB's on max weight, you need to superset. Plus, it's far better for functional strength than one dimensional strength. Yeah, okay, some okes can curl 25 / 30kg and press 200kg. But can they pull themselves up a rope, or break the traction with 16 ceased wheelnuts (that themselves need approx 50-75kg force) on a car? My plan (at home) is pullups, pressups and jumping jacks, interspersed with skipping & bridges. Until I get myself a cheap ass TRX home system (made by me, of course - not paying R 2.5k for some webbing and a couple of caribiners!) EDIT: BTW - I SUCK!!! at skipping.
  6. I have my eyes on a 2010 Rev U turn Dual Air. Brand spanking. 3k plus VAT. Selling my REBA for that.
  7. 1.83. And no worries re dikkes. I know I am... Just so damn hard to lose it all with the time & appetite that I have! But, plans are afoot. Actual weight right about now is approx 102kg. I was 105 after my honeymoon last year. So yes, it is coming off, slowly. I rate I'll lose more when my littlie arrives though, if only 'cos of time / stress / whatever... When i was cycling 30km to / from work every day in London I was approx 90/93 kg. Benching 130 & shoulder pressing 100kg. Bicep curl 20kg (dumbell) & 50kg (barbell) I can still leg press 150/180. Chest flies were 15kg each side. Now I'd be lucky to get half those figures, except I can still curl 18kg. Comfortably.
  8. He doesn't say whether the hookers are of the "corner" variety, or the "Number 2" variety...
  9. ROFL. 2013 is all Solo Air. Apparently it improves over solo air in various areas, none of which I'm qualified to comment on. But then, I have a 2011 RLT Dual Air for sale. Offers over 2.5k. Going for a Revelation U Turn Dual Air (120/150mm) for the Hardtail. Yes, that's right... Carry on crying.
  10. I'm 25% RSA, 25% Rhodesian, 25% Protestant English & 25% Austrian Jew. 75% of me (everything bar the Austrian Jew) is of Norse origin. And you wonder why I'm a big guy. I was born at 4.7kg. My son has 3 weeks to go and is 3.7kg in the uterus. I'm a big boy.
  11. LOL... I get up slowly. Especially on my DH bike. But if I go up on the ST, I pass other, fitter guys. 'Cos I know how to handle roots and rotse. Just lift 'n pump. Not unlike how you... erm... yeah. BTW - I'm a big guy. My "fighting wieght" is 90kg. I then wear a 28/30 jean pant and an l / xl shirt. Yes, I am a big booi. There's a reason for The Crow (and Pain or Shine, Capicorn, DJR et al) calling me "The Rock Whisperer". I generally manhandle (Chuckyhandle? Chucky is my nick in business circles, for reasons I shall not mention...now) moerse big rocks.
  12. ROFL! he's harder than the 6th Mechanised infantry! That's a tjoon. He's harder than iRobot! Erm... yeah. Go back to your simile machine, R2D2 C3P0. (edit: R2D2 is a machine! C3P0, well...)
  13. And here my training keeps my waist the same... If I were to lose just 10kg, I'd be at 95. And I'd kick ass up the hills. And down them...
  14. I thought you were asking opinions on new bikes... Agree with everyone here. Rip Off artist of note. Yeah, so the 9.9 is carbon. Big whoop. I can get an On One carbon frame for 4.5k landed. Then that leaves you 20k for parts. Which, second hand, would give you an XT / X0 kitted bike with ZTR Flow / Spank Subrosa wheels and a REBA RLT Ti Solo Air fork & RP23 / RT3 rear can. No comparison.
  15. 32 RL just has rebound adjustment. The RLT (Reba) has Rebound, compression & a "gate" that can control high speed compression if you tune it correctly. FAR more adjustable than the foxie.
  16. BB is generally lower on the niners than the sixers. This is to get the bigger wheels to "fit" whilst retaining the same general wheelbase of the sixers, and retain some sort of handling characteristics. Tell your friend to keep his pedals level when he gets to the tech stuff.
  17. Will gooi some soon soon. Got caught up doing some baby preparation this eve, so wasn't able to measure steerer...
  18. But hey, you live in Toti. So you have to have something to brag about, right?
