  1. They should be able to sort you out with a warranty replacement. The problem might be in that the agent for the shock itself is trying to slow things down for some reason. Ask who it has been sent to, and then phone them up every day until something has been done about it. Failing that, approach Dunkeld themselves and demand a loan bike, seeing as yours is in for warranty repairs and they don't seem to be holding up their end of the bargain. YOu might not get a loan bike, but then again, you'll never know if you don't try.
  2. I had a GUL analogue/digital watch, and then a Fossil that both got taken when I was hijacked 5 years ago. Since then, just a pokey little American Swiss Tempo watch, and my 310XT
  3. Go for the Codes! YOu know you want to! Nige - how are you feeling after your dismount last week? Sorry I couldn't get out to ride. It was a hectic week.
  4. Sweet. Wish I could bring up my DH bike, but I reckon my "diary" is gonna be pretty full (not to mention my belly - oof!) I'm keen to ride anywhere though. If you've got a spare bike, fantastic!
  5. That's the one! And no, they don't live in that complex... That dude is causing major trouble with the neigbours. One guys wall has already shifted, and the guy behind him has a pool not 10m from the un-supported dig-site. The wall of earth that is now there thanks to the digging is totally unsupported. Major troubles. And the back wall of the house isn't even waterproofed. Eishoo!
  6. Thanks man. It's one of my favourites. Another one that I loved was taken when I was in London. I lost the file somewhere, but it was on the promenade next to the thames (south side) when there was a performer entertaining the crowds. Some random lightie just decided to climb up onto a doughnut-like sculpture, and poked his head through. The look on his face was priceless...
  7. If you live in Lesley Drive, I'm gonna smack ya. My oldies have the privilege of being very close to a brand new ice cream palace from hell... triple story house on a very small plot.
  8. plus 1 - I love my 50mm. Or - get a 50mm f1.8 and then a lensbaby...
  9. the 600 is still VERY good, Grebel. Only reason I say I could have used more FPS was that I was shooting some cyclists going through water, and was trying to shoot 3 or 4 different shots as the splashing is so unpredictable. A word of advice though - get yourself a VERY good SD card. It has to be one of the Extreme 3's if you're going Sandisk, otherwise the camera WILL lag and your FPS rating will decrease because the card's data capacity can't handle the camera's writing speed. Look for the highest transfer rate, and go with that. With SD cards, unfortunately, price does directly relate to quality. BTW - that's also why I was having issues on saturday with the FPS rating. One of the cards I have was a gift, and the buyer went for the cheaper option.
  10. if you want to save on shipping, I'm coming up to crimetown over Christmas. Hatton Estates, to be exact. I'd be more than happy to "courier" them up there for you. Oh - A mate of mine has the 500d and he's super chuffed with it. There is also a marked difference in focus speed between the 450 & 500 (I tested this out myself, with a 70-200mm non IS lens that I switched between the bodies, in Canal Walk shopping centre - 500 was noticeably faster at focussing) so I can only assume that, along with a superior FPS rating, the 600 is that much faster at focussing as well.
  11. That's where I was battling this weekend with the Woolworths Wacky Triathlon. Needed more FPS than the 450 could give me.
  12. This is a pic of a random trumpeteer that I took on Clifton 4th just after sunset quite a while back. Taken with my 450d, just somma. Not staged, promise. One of my favourite pics... The watermark is for my wife's blog, as it was put up there as part of "our" photographic collection.
  13. Yes, but you still need to know how to use the thing... There's only so much "Auto" can do. And I shoot on manual the whole time. RAW is where it's at...
  14. Grebel - you can't go wrong with ORMS. Arguably the best camera store in the country. Studio 22 comes a very close 2nd, IMHO. Their pricing is also very good (ORMS) and the staff are extremely helpful. If you find a better deal elsewhere, just talk to the guys and they will accommodate you. ORMS is the only place I take my pics to be printed on canvas, normal card or anything. Studio 22 get the Photo Books...
  15. And? Did you hit it good? Landing? Or are you pillaging the med aid?
  16. And as for the saying "it's not about the camera" = you've just proven it with those last 2 pics Dangle. I use a 450D and whenever I hear people telling me that the camera must be really good, because the pics come out really well, a little voice in my head goes neanderthal on them...
  17. Result. Shot bro. Edit: OOOOOH! Farcry 2 - I want that one! I've got the original, as well as HL & HL2, OP FOR and Crysis 2. Just waiting for my parallels to get a bit more stable before I introduce them to some quad core i7 goodness.
  18. Awesome. Just don't make him ride anywhere near PE, Tableview or Cape Point. With those disc-wheels of his, he'll get blown to kingdom come!
  19. Shot. I also use Deviant Art at times... Not as often as I used to though...
  20. TNT - Where are those wallpapers from? They're awesome... I used to use digital blasphemy, until they stopped updating as often as they could.
  21. Could also be the saddle - tighten the seatpost clamp properly, and pay some attention to the bolt that secures the saddle onto the seatpost. I know mine creaks when I pedal, due to the changes in weight distribution etc. If those are both moerse tight, then check the handlebar clamps. Then the pedals, and then the BB...
