  1. Can, with one of those trigger grips. Don't want to be pressing that nozzle down whilst trying to get an even spread. Almost impossible to get a great finish like that, I'm sure you'll know... I have access to a gun & compressor, but it's a bit of a las.
  2. Can't wait to see the metallic paint on it! Soooooo shiny!
  3. Shot bro! Swingarm still needs to be stripped down... running out of primer though! Bloody wind. ;-)
  4. Shot mate, I plan for it to be a helluva good looking bike. From the state of the garden, you can see that I agree with you on that point! Just never is enough time to do it. Considering getting somebody in twice a month to do it for me. We already have a garden service for the complex, and it'll be an extra R 50 per day for them to do my garden as well... Dirt cheap.
  5. Update: FINALLY finished prepping the frame for paint, and have just finished giving it the coat of primer. Quick-dry primer, so it won't take long before I can start with the first proper coat, unless the wind starts blowing. Then I'll have to do the first coat tomorrow. Damn, but those little nooks & crannies were an absolute beeeeeeeyatch to get paintless! Also did the 1st and 2nd coat for the cranks. They're looking KING at the moment, and I can just imagine what they'll look like with the enamel clearcoat on. AAAAAAAWESOME! Well, here are the pics... more to come later. Still waiting on the CRC shipment though, and I need to design & print the decals. Nothing fancy schmancy, just classy and understated. Next step - light steel wool on the primer, and then patch up the areas that need attention. Will post a few options for you guys, to get your opinion. Frame: Cranks:
  6. Stands to reason that it will, mate. If you're used to lugging an extra 10 to 15 kg up the hills, when it comes off it'll feel so good and will go so much better....
  7. Yeah. And with the 10% off, it's almost the same price as the SLX's would normally be...
  8. That's a damn good price for XT's... Just R 200 more than SLX. I'd really consider it as an option if I hadn't already bought...
  9. Oh. my. word. How the feck does he manage to get so frikkin high on his bunny hops!?
  10. Dude - Media centre machine is an old Asus laptop, running XP. Not Vista. Or 7. Work machine is a 5 year old Dell inspiron 6400 with a 512MB ATI x1400. Home machine is an i7 2ghz Macbook pro running 7 & osX. iPad fits in. And it's fantastic for business if you're on the road all the time. As I am.
  11. With HIS Snappy Pants!? Bwahahahahahaa!!!! I can't lie though. I am a brand whore if I can afford the stuff. I mean, Audi, WW work shirts & casuals, Marantz amp @ home, Puma, Adidas (NOT Nike), iPad, Kindle, Rudy Project, Avid... the list goes on!
  12. DUDE! How frikkin tall are you that you need 180mm cranks!?
  13. Ja bro... Sucks. DHL & UPS have fantastic tracking systems in comparison to this. Guess I'm just used to good updating practices. Meh.
  14. Okay - on further inspection, it might have flown on Thursday, and is yet to be unpacked in JHB / CTN. Will phone customs on Monday to check it out.
  15. Seems as if it stopped on Thursday. They don't work on weekends. And Monday is a public holiday over there. Dammit.
  16. Dude - shoulda gone DHL. Your fkn parcel is in Cape Town, u bastard! Mine's still showing as International Scheduled. No more information than that. Apart from this useless piece of **** 26-08-2011 02:16 International Hub Forwarded for export 25-08-2011 20:56 International Hub Received and processed 24-08-2011 16:21 007 Forwarded for processing 24-08-2011 00:00 WDM Online
  17. I had a choice between the SLX and the Elixir 5's. Both have fantastic reviews. What did it for me was the use of synthetic oil on the Avids vs mineral oil on the SLX, plus I wanted something that came stock with a 203mm for the front. Also - I'm prepared to do a bit of maintenance on the Avids. Some people swear by them, some don't. As far as SLX goes - I've only heard good reports. But buying larger rotors would have put them beyond my budget, as they only came with 160's on CRC, and I wasn't prepared to pay R 2,100 for them from CWC when I could get them at R 1,300 (ex vat) from CRC. Hayes Stroker Ryde are more equivalent to base Shimano brakes. The Trail is a far better option if you're looking at Hayes. Clarks Skeletal - some good reviews, some absolutely SCATHING! I felt and tested a pair on a bike in Revolution the other day. Felt as if I could break the levers in my hand there was so much play in them. Also reportedly have problems with longevity and bleeding... I'm also a bit of a brand-whore at times though. And AVID looks far cooler than SHIMANO.
  18. 26 tapered standard alu mtb Full suss 140mm travel minimum (front & back) Riser bars (750mm)
  19. Oh, Mega Man! I've already got the primer, paint & clearcoat ready for her... And while I agree that the poliched look is AAAAAAAAAWEsome, I'd prefer something with a bit less maintenance. Plus, I dig the way that it's gonna look with the metallic Gun metal grey!
  20. I got slapped by mine (and its fraud division) on monday...
