  1. Damn fine looking bike there, RAB. Impressive to say the least.
  2. So - basically an MTB with drops. Other angle to the CX bikes.
  3. Ditto. You DO get seatposts that size. 31.8mm is oversize. Try to go back to the shop you got it from and ask if you can swop it for the proper size. Explain your stuff-up, and take your slip with you. They might have to order it in for you, but hey - you'll have the right size and won't have to search for a shim to ebable it to pit properly.
  4. as far as i know it should be the normal vat + 10%, so duty (incl VAT) is 15.4%. But then I could be wrong...
  5. Go for gold... White just looks too... meh!
  6. Check the original post here, SHNO... payment to be made through Google Checkout. As for full refund?! Have you seen the selection of bikes he's got on his site? Think they're all his? Think he should be selling ALL of them for the same price? Thought not. STINKS to high heaven.
  7. Erm, if that bike was TRULY being sold for R 11k, I'd go for it! Far too high a discount to be legit. Also highly irregular to ask for payment ONLY thru Google Checkout...
  8. Key there is your use of the word "fun". Then, it doesn't matter about sponsor input or what he's riding - he's just having FUN! If he wants to have FUN, then it's the 6'er. As soon as it becomes race-time, sponsors put pressure on him to ride the 9'er in order to promote the brand and the "new" category of bike. Marketing, basically.
  9. Couldn't have said it better! You will get a far better spec 6'er DS for the same price as a 9'er DS. Plus, you want to have fun. You like bombing it. You prefer chuckability. Go for the 6'er. Plus, you don't want to look like a clown, do you?
  10. Step 1 - shorter stem. Step 2 - wider bars. Step 3 - better fork. Step 4 - better wheels. All in order of expense and effect. The fork will be the best performance upgrade, but the stem and bar will be the biggest upgrade in terms of "feel" and make you feel FAR more confident. In terms of fork - rather go for a RockShox Reba Dual Air. Far lighter, and you can ask your LBS to change it to a 120mm (they'll just take out a spacer in the fork itself)
  11. DJR - I've just reported your post. Totally unhelpful, and counter-productive!
  12. Why on earth would you want a caravan?
  13. The Boo Bars are 780mm, for R 450. I thought it was a pretty damn decent price!
  14. If you find a 180mm adaptor, buy 2 please. I need one for my Reba. I'm running 160mm off a post mount, but I need 180mm. Brake mounting is post mount throughout, so I basically need a 160 to 180mm adaptor. EDIT - The rotor looks kinda like a different version of the Avid Cleensweep. Looks like a reasonable rotor... I'm running windcutters (well, I will be when I can find a 180mm adaptor)
  15. Looks good, man. Can see him boosting the double in the last 2 metres or so. Very quick boost, and he just soaks it up to get over faster...
  16. yes. But if you're dirty, she'll have to give you a sponge bath.
  17. Wire brush would work fine as well. Sandpaper too.
  18. 5. Don't ride with the flu. You won't be able to keep your HR low enough to be able to pump and lift off those jumps. You also lose heaps of concentration
  19. Ja - when we talked about it on Tuesday you said nothing about Kashima, you sneaky bastid! All I can say is - that is service! Damn. Taking responsibility for one of your mech's stuff-ups and actually going SOOO far above and beyond it's actually scary! That's how you retain client loyalty.
  20. awesome... how did they rectify? Replace it straight, no questions asked? I didn't know you were getting the kashima...
  21. ****. you suck. I am jealous. I'm going to cry right now. goodBYE! Awesome new piece of kit, mate. Did they eventually get it right then?
  22. Dude - do you even have to ask!!!? Post it post it post it post it!!!!
