My thinking is that for a front tyre the NN has a bit more aggressive tread pattern? But do agree on point 3 - snakeskin is a necessity.

Considering this combo. Have you been running it long? What's your opinion so far?

My wife test rode a Spesh fate 29er (women's specific ht) on Saturday. She is about the same height and therefore rode a small. Even though the geometry on the fate is super-sorted (as one would expect from a Spesh), she suffered. She found the 29er marginally faster on the flat stuff, but the bigger wheels really hurt her on the climbs. I believe the biggest wheel that will work for her is 650B. I firmly believe that 29 doesn't work for everyone.

IMO, it takes a special effort to stuff up a set of Hope's that were working fine. I had Hope Tech M4's for almost 3 years. In all that time I never had to bleed them. In fact all I ever did was top up the brake fluid when the brakes started feeling a bit squishy. And even that was an easy job - just take the inspection cover off the reservoir and carefully top up the fluid. It's really that easy. You must have had a real prize winner work on your bike.

You must drop some serious $ on bikes.
