  1. I think it was mentioned on another thread as well - if I had one, I would be so tempted to fill in the missing line on the f.
  2. I'll have to take your word for it. But glad to hear you think so.
  3. Yup, I'm a very happy sheeple on a Tallboy.
  4. Ja, I guess there are quite a few advantages to solo!
  5. I'm considering that as well. Just a bit worried about how it will be solo when you inevitably hit a wall. Just about any stage race I've done, there have been bleak moments when having a partner stopped me from pushing my bike off a cliff. But at the moment solo seems to be my only option.
  6. Talent!
  7. Another factor is the fitness level required. You can wing it for a 3 day stage race that is actually quite soft (apologies to those who struggle with it, but Sani isn't that bad). The commitment in terms of time and effort to handle 9 days is an order of magnitude greater. You have to start training 4-6 months prior to the event and have to peak at a minimum of 12-15 hrs per week. That puts the large % of people off.
  8. Gee julle om as ons Ingelse mense van Pretoria met julle Kaapenaars kom saamry? :-) Dis seker die meeste Afrikaans wat ek al op een thread gesien hey!
  9. Thanks, I'll have a look. What the trails like?
  10. Haha! Classic!
  11. Thanks, sounds like a plan. We're in a guesthouse near the airport, but not too fussed about how far we need to drive.
  12. Hey all, My wife and I are going to be in CT for the weekend and are going to do the Lourensford race on Sunday. We're doing the 57k, which looks pretty hard. I'm looking for suggestions for a nice easy 1hr ride to do on Saturday just to spin the legs out a bit? Tokai? Meerendal? Thanks G.
  13. Thanks for the heads up. I've also been riding out there for years, without ever an incident. The time they are a changing, it seems. And not for the better... :-(
  14. Probably a good move. Even if it's not as long as previous CPT's it's still a lot of riding.
  15. When exercising regularly there is another dynamic at work. As you lose fat, your lean mass increases. As one becomes leaner, your body uses MORE calories during exercise. Bottom line - as you become fitter, you get more out of an exercise of equal duration and intensity.
  16. I'm about 80 kg and have Crests. They are light and fast, but they are flexy. I ride very carefully down hills these days. I got them on a 2nd hand bike i bought, and they are one of the first things i will upgrade.

    Cricket......

Ja, I guess if they don't like Bob, they shouldn't play cricket for him.

    Cricket......

In fairness to them, I don't think everyone knows the words to "I Love You, Bob". Even if it has a catchy tune....
  19. Jislaaik, that DOES explain it!!
  20. I hope you're not offering. I try to get my dribbling checked as often as possible.
  21. That section was called "The Gauntlet", which translates to "effin onnoodige blou bliksem"
  22. Laughed so hard, I dribbled in my pants a bit!
  23. I see you've decided to give 3 towers a skip?
