  1. Mrs. G and I are in. See you at VG.
  2. Ok bad comparison, but isn't Jens 41?
  3. I can't read a word you wrote. I'm sitting here waiting for your avatar's boobs to pop out.

And just to make it more confusing, I have to admit that Warney is actually quite trim these days. Seems like Liz Hurley is doing something to keep him in shape.

Just old fatty trying his best to stay in the limelight. It'll never happen.
  6. I'm not from CT, but have been to a couple of shops. The 2 that stand out are Revolution Cycles and Cycle Lab in Tokai. At both shops I spent ages chatting about this, that and the next thing and was never pressured or had someone hard-sell me on anything. Maybe that's just Cape Town folk...
  7. The old saying goes "Strong, light, cheap - choose 2 of the 3".
  8. Sounds good. I'll let you know.
  9. Guilt free beer.
  10. Hey jcza, me and Mrs. G may be interested. It's about 110km? What pace you looking to go?
  11. I also did Sabie Ultra, which was IMO slighty harder than Barberton. But that is like trying to decide who you would rather open mouth kiss - Bakkies Botha or Bismarck du Plessis. Neither is a good option...
  12. We stayed at the Gold Nugget guest house which was quite nice. About 1-2 km from the start. The biggest thIng is that you are doing the ultra - good luck there. Twice up that mountain is a mother of a ride.
  13. After wading through your double negatives, I can answer that yes, it rains almost all the time. This race has earned it's reputation for being a bike breaker. Plan on buying a new chain, cassette, BB brakes pads and gear cables to get your bike running after the race. The high pressure wash after each stage will trash the pivots on you full susser and will probably drill your hubs as well. Oh, and the climbs will hurt your legs.

So you would drop AB, Smith, Morkel and Tahir? Tahir for Robin P - ok. But the other 3? Seriously???
  16. Any updates on where we can get the results?
  17. No thanks - I prefer to help you by entering your event. I have done it every year for the past 4 years, and have always entered a large team. I will do so next year again.
  18. 1. I am sure I read your post 100% and I didn't miss anything - or did I? 2. I would say that the 24hr race last week at Rietvlei is competition for the Omnimotion 24hr, or do you disagree? 3. I get that they were let down by someone else. You run a business and I am sure you know it's not a good idea to have all your eggs in one basket. You need plan B,C and D. 4. Agree. That is dumb. I think Redness got the gist of my post, which was meant constructively.
  19. Firstly, as per my previous post our team had a great time. BUT, I would say that Omnimotion must take the emergence of a rival 24hr year end race as a giant wake up call. I know that this race has been going for 13 years, but when the organizers start to get complacent and don't nail down crucial details (read - proper catering) people will start voting with their money and do other events. Thanks Omnimotion for a nice course, but we will be expecting you to up your game next year.
  20. Likewise, was nice to meet you.
  21. Yep. The gane was an absolute killer! How you feeling this morning? You look properly worked over by the end of the weekend.
  22. I also thought i was going to chunder during most of my laps, but that was the booze... Hard luck on being sick.
  23. Was a lot of fun. IMO Van Gaalensis the perfect venue for this event. But got the feeling that it wasn't as big or as well attended as previous years. Personally, I was far more impressed by my ability to skull beers than to churn out laps.

We batted ourselves out of a hole in the last test. Looks like we'll have to bowl ourselves out of one. I know it's character building to overcome adversity, but gees, can't we just win easily??
  25. Nice one! I hardly ever check out this thread, but after having got my hands on the new Deftones, I felt compelled to come post here. And there, you beat me to it. Freakin' brilliant album. Start to finish.
