I wouldn't get the wheels before VG anyway - i'm just saving for them. Out of interest - what lights you using? I'm lead to believe that the Magicshine lights are the way to go.

I dunno, I figure R1000 I don't spend on a light is R1000 closer to a new wheelset. That and riding around at night is 'kaksoek'

Couldn't agree more. Losing JP was a big one. It's easy to underestimate how much he would have featured in our bowling plans. Even if not as a wicket taker, but rather as a 'holding' bowler who would keep one end quiet.

I'm still using that Sigma 5W + 10W light setup. The battery now does about 1hr on the low setting. My plan on the night laps is to go slow until someone with a Magicshine catches up to me, and then speed up a bit. That, or get too dopped to ride at night...

No ways. Rest and recovery is the most important part of training! Make sure to continue to carbo load adequately in the weeks leading up to the big day. Also continue to avoid any strenuous activity which may elevate your heart rate. This way I'll at least beat 1 person at the 24 hr :-)

The bog standard ones - its a Stan's complete wheel. Never occurred to me to change the spokes. Did have the rear wheel trued though.
