  1. Have you had a chat to them about replacing the frame at cost? I bought a Kona a few years back, it was too small so sold the frame to my mate. Anyway the seat/toptube weld cracked just after 5 years of purchasing the bike. So second owner contacted Kona and told them the story, they offered him a brand new frame at (I stand corrected) 50 percent of dealer cost. The new frame came with a lifetime warranty for him!
  2. Tbh you should have laid a hit and run charge against her. People need to start taking accountability for their actions. Did you take her numberplate?
  3. Giant TCR composite 105, aksium wheels. 8.8kgs (xl) 11k. No idea what my anthem weighs. I think maybe mention size... big influence from there.
  4. I'm 105kgs, 6'3. Got a giant anthem x1, loving it. Climbs like a beast, and very responsive. If I'd had enough for the carbon one, I'd probably have waited to try the pyga - didn't have any xl ones I could try. I did try the epic. Found it a bit aggressive for me, but at the same time a little more clumsy.... but that suspension was awesome.
  5. I think the replies assume you currently have the bees on your bike as tubeless. If they're not on the bike yet you need to do a tubeless conversion if you want to run them tubeless (recommended). The tubeless conversion basically stops the air from escaping through the spoke holes in the rim, and gives you a valve to pump up the Tyre and sealant to close any small punctures on your ride. If you're planning on just using tubes, the tube has the valve, and keeps the air in, so you don't need to change anything. With tubeless tyres you get less punctures, and can run lower pressures meaning more grip. You will carry some plugs and a tube with you in case you get a puncture that doesn't seal. Hope that helps.
  6. +1 Usually there is also a camera involved!
  7. Maybe ask where he bought the bike, and give the shop a shout? It has a pretty particular set of upgrades so if a LBS did the bike they'd probably remember.
  8. I got a new 2013 Anthem X1 earlier this year with XT shifter upgrade, XT crank upgrade, Tubless Conversion, Geax Aka and Geax Saguro all for around 25k - so you should get a bit of an idea there. I'm not sure what the cr29ssmax are worth, but that would be where the difference comes I think. I see he also has non standard bars and seatpost (looks like ritchey) My guess is that he bought the frame and fork (remember its an overdrive 2 steerer, not a normal tapered) and then built a previous bike across. I don't think I'd offer more than 20k.
  9. Sorry Scale. Couldn't find the "clean" ones after the stitches. Must have lost them when changing phones.
  10. Fountains ride, coming off the high section towards the car park, little bit of oversteer, breaking and some soft stuff hooked the front wheel 90 degrees. Went over the front catching my knee on the brake lever and handlebar on the way through, 2 holes and 16 stitches later.....
  11. For sure. I have wide hands which overlap double lock on grips. ESI chunky's are grippy, soft and don't move on the bars. love them.
  12. I'm hoping the Livestrong Oakleys go on sale! Maybe Trek will even sell me a discounted bike just cos it's black and yellow!
