  1. Not exactly the same - but I have a pin and screws elsewhere that I was told to leave be and I have been 2 years without any major issues with the Titanium. Reason why mine were left is that the joint is now stronger and no harm leaving in the weather prediction pins.
  2. This topic is reminding me that soon I will have to start the 4 am rides again to get fit. Only sensible time to do road training around the cape peninsula without getting mowed down - I normally ride my MTB: Pinelands, Hout Bay, Kloofneck and home again by 6 am. Have been keeping MTB fit as a weekend warrior but have to step up my game for this one especially since everyone at graft is competing for the title of fastest Argus. When they hear that you rode a 60 MTB race they think I am a pansy for doing such a short distance - little do they know!
  3. Edit: was supposed to read "7 speed shifter" in title Anyone know if I could get a new shifter like the below or if anyone has an old one lying about. Part of my restore project. Works with my old 7 speed derailure. http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee420/Landy1973/Image22_zpsc78e265c.jpg
  4. dogs have way better genes than humans - they are not so full of s#@t like us and faithful no matter what.
  5. Feed him Table Mountain once a week for those muscles
  6. This is my best buddy Buster. 380 Volt version - does Devils peak in 45 minutes with me http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee420/Landy1973/IMG_0104_zps4fc19f1d.jpg
  7. 1 week max, but I was 19 then so bounced back quick. Depends how much stomach muscle you have - the more you have for them to slice through the harder to heal up
  8. So you saying AntiBiotics won't help get rid of the cold I already have that won't go away?
  9. So glad I never went. I thought today I would do a small ride to loosen the legs after 8 days of not cycling and my Heart Rate was way over normal. I eventually gave up when going up one steep section and I hit 191 for something I normally do at 178 when pushing hard. Off to the doc tomorrow for some A.B's to get rid of this lingering germ - such a p.i.t.a these colds as I haven't been sick in about two years. Missed two races already and feeling lazy and my muscles I am sure are wasting away.
  10. The guy that fixed me was supposed to be the best. Titanium is well bonded so too late for any fix ups
  11. Was a pretty high energy impact yes - doc said the same. The height from which I hit the rock when I went over the handlebars. The short term outcome is a click in the hip when I walk but long term me thinks HKGK.
  12. After Karkloof I changed all the grease in my bike for some stiff Wheel Bearing grease that I had on my shelf and that seems to stop the water entering the bearings than the normal grease that was in use.
  13. OK - see you guys at the next event then - thanks for confirming my thoughts on this
  14. Wow - that's what Karkloof race cost me also in Bike parts. Wosley only cost me two full days of my time stripping down the complete bike, and gearlevers etc. but I got away with mostly only water in the bearings but no mud got in.
  15. Had this head cold for 1 1/2 weeks and I am at the stage with blocked sinuses and green snot but don't feel bad, just a tiny bit under the weather. Can I do a 70 MTB this weekend which I have already entered hoping I would be done with this germ? I have read somewhere here guys asking about the Flu which I now is not a good idea, but just a cold I am not sure.
  16. Also broke the ball off my hip, scapula and two collarbones
  17. Oops - didn't even notice I caught that in the background - sorry for those who take offence - Just a memorabilia, nothing else
  18. Old Bike I am rebuilding Seapia - no more accidents for now. Do you think the two coats primer will "fill" the sandblast profile and make it smooth for the top coats?
  19. Before applying my spray on primer, should I sand the frame smooth or leave the sandblast finish? http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee420/Landy1973/IMG_0112_zpse0edffed.jpg
  20. Guy tells me the can coveres 2 m^2 so should be enough for the frame and bits and pieces I hope. Cost just over R200.
  21. I'm off the Cape Panel to get some for my project also
  22. Thanks Guys - have tried both suggestions but last Guy is in JHB
  23. Imagine explainin why the next load of white panties are all black
