  1. To back this up with data...taking Strava local legend stats for a run and a ride segment on the Glen (this is conservative as it excludes walkers, ebikes and non-strava people) in the last 90 days: Running: 2387 segment efforts by 1262 athletes Riding: 3365 segment efforts by 1038 athletes That's roughly 64 people per day in the last 3 months using the Glen, which I think makes it one of the busier areas?
  2. This is the biggest misconception!!! that road is busy with walkers, runners, riders and the staff walking to work at The Lawns. I use it multiple times a week at all times of the day and have never ever NOT seen a couple of other people. Don't desert it now.. go enjoy it. Hopefully the "security" patrol wake TF up and do a better job, I see them on that stretch sometimes, but as an entry/exit point for Lions head it should be focussed on by them.
  3. Selfishly I hope it never gets fixed. It’s a great NMT link between town and Clifton. It’s perfect for doing climbing intervals on the bike. I’ll take that over the extra 5min it takes me to get to the beach by car😆 I believe the repairs are rather complicated because they essentially have to build a bridge on the side of the mountain and it’s part of Sanparks land, so environmental impact assessments will cause even further delays.
  4. People are so *** (not the land owners!)🤬
  5. Here is a GPX of the Kleinmond Black route (official route starts at Middelvlei Rd, look for the signs, its at 13.1km on this gpx). It's a nice ride. https://www.strava.com/activities/8739232385
  6. What are the thoughts on being able to report drivers yourself? I believe you can do this in the UK and recently saw that the Overstrand municipality have implemented an online reporting system I think. Case in point… this morning a polo went through a red light on Beach Road when two cars (seen entering from the right) were already pretty much through the intersection, that’s how red the light was. Nevermind that they were cruising over 70km/h in a 50 zone🤷🏼‍♂️ varia 0204.mov
  7. Does it? What's worse... being brought up by a scumbag or no father in the picture at all?
  8. Theft is a criminal offence right? Did he not get a Specialized Levo that was never returned, this should be the case to pin him on a "criminal" over civil case?
  9. Maybe @Warren Melissa Go Riding can vlog it for us😂 If memory serves me correctly they were signed up for one of his tours? (Dunno why I think I remember seeing that somewhere, apologies if I've completely made that up).
  10. Did he drop a chain in the sprint at the finish? On the coverage it looked like he was putting the chain back on after crossing the line.
  11. Again this weekend… probability of it being the same guy? 🤬
  12. Sorry to her this. What time did it happen?
  13. I really miss the Totalsports Challenge duathlon from Gordons bay to Kleinmond! With a road ride, road run, mountain bike and finishing with a beach run, it was such a cool race and offered something unique. Also the Piketboberg race and when the Trailseeker was a 5 race series in the WC (but appreciate the quality offered by the two we still have on the calendar) would be great to have back!
  14. You take POPI quite seriously 😂
  15. For anyone else looking, I am also available for rider assistance/driving. Please DM me for contact details to discuss your needs 🙂
  16. Does lying on the beach for the last 5 days contribute towards heat adaptation? Asking for a friend🤡
  17. Witfontein forest in George is epic. https://www.trailforks.com/route/cannondale-witfontein-enduro-2024/ there is also Sky trails in Plett, but not sure what they’re like now, wasn’t amazing a few years ago.
  18. Think I saw a Stages XT crank on the bargain bin table at CycleLab N1 city today… maybe call them and check if you’d like to stick with an identical replacement.
  19. Agreed. How do they access banking apps without the fingerprint/password (and in many cases 2-factor authentication) so QUICKLY?

    2025 WC XCC/XCO

I was keen to do all the events in the series, but to be honest this one has me reconsidering it. I get that they are testing the water, but my feedback is that this is very unappealing.

    2025 WC XCC/XCO

Well aware of that, but come on... XCC should be more of a short XCO course and thats not what I'm seeing.

    2025 WC XCC/XCO

Oh no, that's the tougher course... this is the easer one for the kids:

So I'm not the only one that thought that...

    2025 WC XCC/XCO

First race this weekend... Is it just me that's quite uninspired by the route for the XCC race? Looks like you could do it on a gravel bike... At a venue with so many trail options, surely they could have made a course with more than 5 corners, some switchbacks and a tiny bit more technical? New to this format, but expected more, so anyone out there that can give me more perspective?
  25. Your least expensive option is the Garmin Varia paired to mobile phone using the Varia mobile app. You can keep the phone in his pocket and hear the tones (and possibly feel the phone vibrating, but I wouldn’t rely on that) to alert of an approaching vehicle. The Varia is a device well worth the investment, I can’t ride without it now, makes riding more enjoyable and safer!
