  1. Any further news on the condition of the cyclists?
  2. To the cyclists involved - sorry to hear this and hope you heal up quickly. I had a close call on Beach road Seapoint a few weeks ago where a motorist opened his door a few meters in front of me and on sheer instinct, and almost involuntary reaction, swerved and JUST missed the car door. Luckily for me there wasn't a car directly behind me or I would have been run over! Scary.. Lesson for me was ride ultra defensively when moving past parked cars and try look through the rear window for any activity in the cars. To the lady that helped, you are a STAR. If no stores/suppliers come to the party I will contribute R100 (hopefully along with others) to replace you missing kit. OP just PM me if required.
  3. I'm goin Solo.. Any other soloists riding from Cape Town? Maybe go for a ride before, or grab a beer, or both.. Happy training! And dieting (cancel the beer option above)
  4. Thanks Tank! Happy b/day

  6. Thks Blitzer. Will do (except the hangover part.. )
  7. So how's the training going..? Little early? I can't wait for J2C. Bring on April
  8. Sold on Gumtree or a wheel store in Plumstead..
  9. Have you tried the place where you bought the unit?
  10. Glad he survived! Scumbags. Whereabouts on Beyers did this happen?
  11. Thks Blitzer I'm doing the 2014 ride so I'm trying to gather any info or tips I can..
  12. Stans is the industry standard as far as I'm concerned.. Put 100 ml in each 29er tyre every 6 months and never have a puncture! I stopped carrying a "in case of emergency" tube about a year ago. Tyres run - Maxis Ardent, Racing Ralf Evo, Bontrager Team, Conti Race and Mountain Kings.. And others that I can't remember.. Edit. Remembered Kenda small block 8 and Specialized Renegade
  13. Look forward to seeing the pics!
  14. Any other training (or general) tips from the guys that have done J2C before?
  15. Stan's Arch EX Strong, light for what you getting. Every tyre I've attempted to seat was effortless and I've only ever used a floor pump.
  16. Remote lockout for a Fox RP 23 on a Trek Gary Fisher HiFi 29er?

  19. Thank you Robert for all your tireless work, you really are a solid citizen.. All the "Table Mountain Bikers" really appreciate everything you do for us. Personally I will continue to ride the mountain on a daily basis!! Everyone out there join me.
