Excellent pic! Shows how much his riding style has changed.
  2. This was the one I was going to post. Absolutely. Brilliant.

    Jorge...
  5. Sorry if I sound like a twat. It's been a long year (so far).
  6. To paraphrase Mr Stewart "Do Not Ignore a Concussion". As RS mentioned, post concussion effects are very traumatic. I'm fortunate (or not) that my partner is a psychologist and made me document my post head injury days right up until the present day. I cannot say that it helped but what the constant documentation did was make me aware of a previously unnoticed abject obsession with routine It became somewhat debilitating but I was fortunately allowed to target a huge amount of test/result situations which had not been fully resolved. For clarity, I'm an engineer/research scientist who often has to observe and run a large number of test protocols. It can be tedious in the extreme. Apologies if that sounds like a humblebrag. What I'm trying to say is write a diary, no matter how humdrum it may seem; in a few days, a few weeks, months or even years it may become an useful diagnostic document. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/171163-cyclist-down-r27-past-black-river-in-paarden-island/ Weirdly this made me quite emotional reading it back along with my diary. Get well and be careful.
  7. Remember concussion is a possible bleed on the brain. It is very serious.
  8. Tout à fait approprié parce-que Je suis en France en ce moment. St Vincent et David Byrne, c'est magnifique!
  9. Change the belt. The noise is it slipping, so the friction material is probably glazed. It'll eventually disappear but as the belt is old, you may as well fit a replacement.
  10. Although I'll be very happy to be proved wrong.
  11. You've been scammed matey. But at least you'll get your money back if you've used Paypal. Search RK3328. You'll have to pay a lot more than nine quid.

Apologies, I think that's a quote from an old Cycle World article. I do remember a group interview where the top (10) riders were asked whether they'd ride a bike without traction control and he (MM) was the only one to say "Yeah why not". He's the greatest talent since Rossi. And he'll be greater. Another wonderful thing about MM is that he enjoys himself. As much as I loved Stoner's Doohanesque way of applying himself it felt somewhat joyless at times. Disclaimer: I am a huge Stoner fan. (Making an unrideable Ducati work helped). Marc has an enormous amount of sometimes childlike enthusiasm for his profession which is something I really do enjoy. And, he also has the inbuilt will to win at all costs.

When asked if he'd rather ride with or without traction control MM replied: “I’m used to riding with traction control, so it’s normal for me. But I would like it.” So I think he'd be ok...

My all time hero. I bought an RG500 in 1985 because of him. Met him at a few races too, a lovely geezer. At the time of his death I owned a Ducati 996R. I took it to the top of a local hill and revved the nuts off it as a tribute. I couldn't ride for a while as my eyes were full of water...
  15. Untrue, that is a picture of Liam Brady. There was never an Arsenal player called David Dicks. Julian DIcks played for West Ham in the 90s. It is a entirely made up story. Disclaimer: I am neither an Arsenal or West Ham supporter.
  16. This is quite lovely: As an aside I found the vinyl in a record shop in downtown Dallas a while ago. It is very good indeed (the record not Downtown Dallas).

Ah, sorry, I new he was leaving Honda but was unaware he would be finishing his stint in MotoGP. I must confess i did not read the article you linked to. I've just been through his Wiki entry it's quite a read and brings back a load of memories. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dani_Pedrosa

It's a shame as he's shown great fortitude. On BT sport before the Assen GP they showed a great graphic of his vs MM93's injuries. It is astonishing! And horrific. They showed a picture of each rider with descriptions and indicator lines pointing to each part of the body where the injury had occurred. Marc had a few but Dani's picture looked as though someone had scribbled all over it. There were so many. I really hope he gets a good ride. On a competitive bike.
  19. They sell to the public so you can just visit. And they do deal in singles if necessary. I've got some weird sizes from both of them in the past. It's best to give them a call with your requirements unless you're nearby. Or you could get some studs, cut to the correct length and bolt at each end with lock nuts.
  20. Bearing man, Boltfast? They're both companies I've used in the past for decent quality bolts.
  21. Over thirty years ago. Still magnificent.
  22. It's worth a look at the various documentaries on YouTube, Fantastic songwriters. And Glen Tilbrook is an amazing guitarist. But I may be preaching to the converted here... I was lucky enough to see them in Perth (Scotland), a few weeks ago. It was very good: BBC's Big Weekend.
  23. His bag doesn't match his shoes...Amateur.
  24. This is a pretty good compilation. Includes a bit if Guy Martin and the nutcase Lougher. Not strictly the IOMTT but the Southern 100.
  25. I know it's not exactly what you want but Mastertons in PE definitely have the powder. So they may be able to source the liquid.
