  1. BA's are in high demand in Oz and on the skills shortage list. Start with doing your skills assessment through the ACS to see if you qualify, and go from there. No real need for an agent.
  2. You're right, that 6 should have been an 8. R2800, not R2600
  3. LOL indeed. Remind me how R2600 is more than R4500? And price is not the point being discussed. The availability of 29er straight steerer forks was.
  4. Pick one
  5. I'm in a similar situation here, but will fortunately take enough capital to Oz to make house buying possible. The challenge of "doing it all again" is something I'm actually looking forward to. It's certainly daunting at times, but I'm more excited than scared at this stage.
  6. Built it and rode it yesterday evening. For R4500 it's a damned bargain! Needed some minor adjustments on the rear derailleur indexing and limit screws, but otherwise it runs really well. The frame is quite impressive, and leaves some room for component upgrades down the line.
  7. She got herself a medium. Seems pretty decent for the price point.
  8. Penny Sparrow says hi...
  9. Makro Springfield seem pretty jacked, but most of the 20 bikes they received have been reserved or sold. My wife picked up a trail 5 for herself earlier today. It's boxed, so I'll be building tonight
  10. Ever wondered why the nut farms in Mpumalanga have 8 foot electric fences? Same problem it seems.
  11. I traveled a very similar road. Hundreds of thousands spent on trying to have a baby. We agreed to one final attempt (which I held zero faith in), and my (perfectly healthy) son is now 5.5 years old.
  12. LOL, anyone that goes out of their way to prevent SA consumers from buying their distributed brands through any channel but theirs (at their prices) certainly doesn't get my support. The statement released by Omnico over this Makro deal just about sums it up perfectly.
  13. It's the ridiculous notion of having a middleman distributor adding massive margins that kills the LBS business.
  14. Holla has a weekly braai club after the Thursday night ride. Well, braai, and beer drinking club
  15. Fair comment. But his kids will have far great opportunities in NZ, that much is certain. I guess a lot depends on how well his relationship as a father works at a distance.
  16. Uhm, care to elaborate?
  17. Lucky chap that.Closest I got to DH in the Alps when I was 10 was bombing it down the side of Bill Stewart koppie in Bedfordview on my BMX
  18. Letting them go to a better future is just about the most selfless thing you can do. They will realise that at some stage.
  19. Most valuable is that Superamerica, but all old bike are appreciating rapidly. He runs them as much as he can (has 53 to run!), with the exception of the 3 GP bikes. They start, but they have irreplaceable parts. The NSR has a 500 hour lifespan on the crank - very hitech for back in the day!
  20. I sure do. Also has a YB9, which mush be one of the prettiest sportbikes ever made. Apologies for the massive pics. Don't know why that happened.
  21. I'll post some pics of some the other stuff once I've checked with him. He's got a '77 MV Augusta Superamerica and a Bimota SB1 and SB2 which are properly drool worthy. The prices these old bike fetch are amazing!
  22. I previously posted about a mate of mine who collects bikes, and has some lovely ex-GP bikes. Can't find the original post, but I did promise some pics of them. Got to see him on the weekend, and he has some absolutely incredible stuff in his collection. Quite a few Bimota's, MV's, Rickman, and some very rare local bikes.
  23. Damned fine replacement though!
  24. What happened to the Orange?
  25. Also did a pizza night last night! Not as fancy as yours though, but lots of fun
