  1. I train in the suburbs and Tokai most mornings from 4/4:30 to 7 and haven't had any incidents in Tokai, or on Zwaanswyk road doing intervals. .touch wood they are not expecting a large amount of traffic/bike choice at that time of day. There is also a Engen crew that asseble in Claremont at 5am most mornings for road rides. Strength of group is pretty strong, but you are not obligated to work...and can sit in fairly comfortably.
  2. Well lets hope your wife doesn't say anything about that...
  3. without telling us what the mod is this post is about as useful as a cock flavored lollipop... I also a secret but I'm not telling people that I have a secret
  4. I have a Giant Trance W Frame up for sale in mint condition. 16" https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/44317-giant-trance-w-frameset-womens-medium/

  6. Buy my ZTR Alpines, come with new renegade tires...
  7. OK so everybody is upset with the PPA and the lack of racing, but lets just remember a few points before the flames come out: PPA facilitate the organization of races/funrides, they do not organize them for themselves, besides the Tour De PPA. That means, rotary or a lions club or cycling club are responsible for ORGANISING the race, getting road permission and etc... The PPA merely help in this regard. The PPA do not organize the Cobra... The PPA are not responsible for the decision taken now by Road Traffic Dept to shut off the use of the roads, they have been negotiating for a long time to try keep them open for us but failed, it's not in their hands, no I don't believe throwing (saved up) money at it would work. In the last few years there have been more and more incidents in the south, and after riding all over the Western Cape i have come to find that only people living south of bishops court are an uptight cyclist hating mob. I only get hooted at when I cost "Johnny Fish Hoek dweller" 10 seconds on his Commute. They seem like they are out for blood. - Do they think that I made them live in the sticks? Tjops. The demand by cyclists in this country are high - Only here do we get 90 to 110km circular routes to race on, like everyone is looking at the scenery. Get your head around racing a ten kilo circuit, close a small quiet suburb and race your guts out for 150km. Low impact on traffic, high impact on cycling, fitness and we get longer racing the same standard as Europe, and the USA where you may find a crit race almost every day of the week - and get this - PEOPLE ACTUALLY GO WATCH the race! How many of you have your dad/mom go stand somewhere to watch you in the Argus? only to maybe see you for less then 1second. Cycling should be a spectator sport, and therein lies the sponsorship. Climbers get to race hill crits, flat racers get to race the flat ones, everyone is happy. Where you can flame the PPA like iCyciling so rightly points out, is the organization of tours etc like the Giro De Capo. Road cycling seriously lacks tours, 3,4-5 days stage races that are world class, attract international competitors and really raise the level of our domestic pro's and pro-ams. MTB is taking a massive chunk of talent off the road and putting them in the dirt and seeing them shine. There is a MTB stage race practically once a month. How do they get that right I wonder...?!
  8. White cork tape, Prepsol/dirt bike cleaner, Nail brush. easy, lasts for ages.
  9. 8 1/2 phew that's a Day-Night game!
  10. it sounds like you are blowing them off the rim after fitting and not while riding? You may need to soap up your sidewalls to get an even fit around the rim when it seats, sometimes they blow off if you have a tight spot in the bead and it's folded the wrong way over, then you start to inflate and it blows over the low lips crests have. I have had this happen on a few spesh tires and Schwalbe. All times I was lazy installing dry tires. If you don't have a soapy solution to apply on the sidewalls then use Mr Min furniture spray or silicone spray. Then pump up incrementally while the bead seals evenly you can bounce the wheel on the ground a few times to bump the bead out too.. You'll also end up with a nice smooth even seated tire with no hops in its rotation. i only need to go up to 3 bars like this and then deflate to my required pressure As an added bonus it will make your tire sidewalls shine when you wipe them down afterwards.
  11. Ya I have no idea why... you may as well use crayons to draw a picture and send via pidgeon
  12. Just replaced my Spez 29er .. pretty much same issue, but the Bianchi is very drool worthy.

  14. Actually the Spez ones do...clean them with Mr Min.
  15. Rode my MTB up the main road to work, managed to slip a few busses and beat the cars in my 9km commute, I see which cars i start with and aim to arrive before them... managed to build a fair gap on them today thought the lights... Cycling is faster, cleaner and better!
  16. I would like to know if it is possible to ride the portage zone, I'm sure many will agree that a 350m long walk on gravel will ruin their carbon slippers. I am not going to walk in mine. Anybody know if we can ride it? Otherwise we can put in a splash pool at the 30 Minute Stop-Go and call it a Triathlon. Thanks ;-)
  17. I'm about the same as you if not less, ave 550- 600 tss. Some weeks this year though Ive had 1200-2500
  18. sho that was a waste of time...it's fugly.
  19. how do you mean all power fields...% FTP is one field you can display on as many pages as you like
  20. the carbon underneath is the same - the finish (how it looks in the sun) is either 3K (big squares) 12K (small squares) or UD - no squares. Choose your BB on the crank you have now.. or you will either need an adapter or another crank or BB...
  21. there are hundreds of riders out there today, I nearly got ridden down this morning on main road Muizenberg again... The road is a death trap.

    Fork Oil

we stock a range of different oils, and they are all high end racing spec. Good enough for Ohlins, Showa and Marzocchi. PJ1 have 500ml quantities and are very good oils. and Yes we supply a few bicycle shops and suppliers for their workshops

    Fork Oil

I think 500ml is the smallest you'll find. the two bottles you need will set you back R160 and you'll have enough for 4 services if you're accurate
