  1. In mountain biking there is no subvets... and the ballies have to race in the elite class...no wonder they all need gear
  2. If all else fails go to trainingpeaks.com and read the free pdf's they give you on training... its a goldmine.
  3. i think you are done with base miles when you can sustain the necessary duration for the entire length of the longest race in your calendar at aerobic level without experiencing heart rate decoupling of more than 5-7% Decoupling is technical and hard to gauge without a powermeter for certain but if you are monitoring your heart rate trends then your base should be fine by the time your heart rate stops averaging lower numbers weekly for the given duration / workout ie unfit ave 160bpm and steadily decreases per week as you gain fitness, then wont drop below 145-150bpm ave for the same rides - move on to a harder workout. The closer you are to race day the shorter and harder the intervals become. - do not peak for race 1
  4. I don't think the chainring is his problem... I have a wolftooth GXP ring on an S-Works crank in a Bianchi Methanol with a 10 speed XT cassette and XX derailer... you don't get more mixed up than that and mine is perfect!
  5. normally B tension presents problems higher up the cassette with touching, it may also be too far away and thus not align the pulleys and the cassette sprocket correctly.
  6. your problem is not at the extremes of the cassette, I fail to see how it would be a chain line issue. a bend derailer hanger would then also give you issues in the 10t. have you checked the derailers height (B) adjustment screw in the back of the unit? is the chain running on the cassette not too close to the jockey wheels, If they touch there it would sound like a shift skip?

  9. link to ebay mounts?
  10. Don't Buycycle sell those now?
  11. I have black ones like this...used them in all sorts of muk and they are still thumping. I do not reccomend in ear buds for road cycling, they cancel more noise than this type that still allows some ambient sound to come in. My brother totalled himself because he didn't hear his front wheel blow out while descending Glen (8.2%) and he was in the drops, he turned to take a corner without even applying brakes and lost it like a diesel oil slick. I also have the Skullcandy ones and they are good too. What I do is thread the phone through my helmet strap and wrap it round once through the inside out before fitting in my ear, that way the cord handing down your back doesn't tug the phones loose while you ride.
  12. I found this Si cover in the corner of a left hand turn in the Fairy Garden singletrack in Tokai this morning. It's aluminium and has a groove with O'Ring that looks like it presses in to cover a hole, perhaps a stem cap to keep water out etc... Let me know if its yours...
  13. that must include fork and headset... still a bit porky though...what frame is it?
  14. you need something like this http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=59624
