  1. I found that my battery was effectively turning the green LED on the charger on as the power can run both ways, 1st check the charger is firmly in the plug socket, normally that solves it for me. I had a few faulty chargers, but then the LED flickers red. Best thing to do is borrow a mates battery and charger and swap test to isolate which object is buggered.
  2. oh and you can service the beaings in a pressfit just like an external rebuild
  3. Specialized actually make adapters that they send with their cranks, but the pressfit BB's are stiffer and easier to use and way lighter than an adapter plus plate plus a screw in set of cups.
  4. get the Pressfit 90 BB - same as pressfit 30 but with a 24mm spindle.

  6. Why? It looks like a downhill segment that a cycle could easily match a car at the maximum speed limit...
  7. That rock slant is giving me vertigo!

  12. Not exactly - CRC have massive buying power and get bigger discounts and more stock allocation than your local distributor can get - especially in a relatively small market like SA. So to directly compare the cost and assume your LBS is making a killing would be wrong. so when you complain that there is not stock or its too expensive indirectly wer are all to blame because of shopping online. In the short term its great for the consumer, cheaper prices mean better bike and higher end parts, but I have already seen it kill the used prices of the mid level bikes and low end groupsets etc.SRAM groupsets that should retail for 25K are easily available for R15K and that means that Force groups are given away... and so it goes. In the long run and as a retailer (not in the cycle industry) I can see how the global distributor model is a closed loop as per the 2020 mags mail. If you try and buy from CRC and fail and then resort to using your LBS - then don't quote the crc price and ask for a match. He is laying out his cash to serve your needs immediately - STFU and pay the man his money so he can be there in future. You are paying a premium for convenience.
  13. excellent all round wheel and great value for money, as long as you dont stray too far down on the tire pressures you'll be fine
  14. That looks like a crack to me, you can see the crack is black from filling up with carbon dust...even underneath you can see some dark lines running the other way.
  15. just bought the book
  16. The reality is that humans do not do anything unless severe punishment is imposed. prosecution from Go Pro footage etc with points system or massive fines and impounding - just think of the revenue, then the little traffic chops can quit hiding in the bush all day on the freeway where no one gets killed, and start going after the bullies in the traffic - all that free time having a nap while the radar collects number plates over the speed limit can be better spent, with greater (revenue reward)
  17. I want to make a sharpened metal aerial that I can mount on my bike that protrudes 1.5m into the traffic horizontally... so if you don't pass with the desired space your car's paintwork will describe to you just what a knob you've been.

  21. I was considering it with a ride to and from the race to make up some distance.
  22. yep...spring tension in the bottom joint to the cage is gone, broken or popped out.

  24. You should check your pressure and re-inflate every single ride, and lube your chain while you're at it. I never leave home without mine at 8 bar (80kg) I did have my concerns with grip on these in the wet when I first put them on, the slid out at 8 bar (on the rear) and i stopped and dropped the pressure to 6 bar for the rain and they were fine after that. I haven't punctured on them once yet and they are wearing just fine. They are nice and light and I don't think they cut any easier than any other tire. On any road you have to watch where you're riding and stay away from glass etc (and if you do cruise through a patch I run my glove over the tires to sweep the glass out) With all that said i still use my Shamal's running tubeless with Huchinson Fusion 3's more than any other wheelset. Complete peace of mind. I hardly even leave home with more than a bomb even for 100km plus rides.
