Actually working on the rim gives you more accuracy in the sense that a small ammount of movement at the rim is even smaller at the casette. so it will be easier to do the adjustment at the rim.

from what I knoe most of these cartridges are the same and that only the locking or adjuster mechanisms differs. the cartridges I know is usually locked by the turning of an 3mm allen key. Ido not know the fork that you have but what I suspect is that the pushdown mechanism activates something that turns something on the inside and that the dirt or ploblem might be there. but check for yourself. have you tried googling it?

quick question if wheels roll the same. I rode the DC last year and have as set of ksyrium elite wheels on the bike I was he lightest rider in the group and I freewheeled away from the rest without sitting in someone else slip. some of the other guys even had a higher set of wheels like the Ksyrium sl. What wiuld be the reason for this?

the one for R300 seems worth it perosnally You wont be able to make one thats going to work well for less. I have also tried to make one by using an old derailluers bolt

not really a hanger can be bent slightly and affect your shifting dramtically. especially on MTB on you higher gears. The second thing is that some derailluer hangers are softer than others. I remember that the old cannondale hangers were very rigid and would brake if you try to bend them back. Some of the softer ones bends easily but can be bent back just as easily without braking them. The biggest problems that affects shifting in my experience, other than dirty cables is a bent hanger

usually one can remove the top cap that screws into the nitrogen cartridge. You should see a line where the two joins near the top.

the tool will be worth it in the long run, If you want to make a tool just remember that the thread that goes into the hanger is not a standard M10 thread. cant remeber the exact dimensions but you can google it.
