Hey Coenie - I work next to Howard Center just off Forrest Drive Pinelands - when I leave work I cycle towards Rondebosch/Claremont and then back along I think it's called Liesbeck Parkway - to Salt River Cicle and then onto the on ramp to the N1 where there is a ramp going down to the cycle path - from there it's all along the path (past the hyjacking hot spot under the bridge !! ) and home. My trip in to work is basically the same in reverse - just not as far down towards Rondebosch

I always try extend my commute to maximse the ride ! I hardly ever ride on the week ends (except for the odd race ) So this is the base of my training - plus I get to work

My son went over to the USA when he was 21 on holiday still there after 19 years - USA citisen now - and only now planning to get married. Accumulated all the toys, a house and did all the amazing things he could muster before deciding to get hitched - so do it now while you can

I commute from Table View to Pinelends via Woodstock 4 to 5 times a week - tough wood - never had a problem Always use the cycle path too ! Wind and getting caught in the rain come with the territory

Having both Specialized and a KTM Taser 2.0 I would strongly suggest you go Specialized - my KTM has developed stress cracks in the weld between head set and top tube - and no I don't jump the bike - this is after 2 Sani2cs and 2 Wines2Whales with a few training rides in Tokai - it would appear that the KTMs need to work on there build quality ???

Would be sooo n ice to set these a-holes up and teach them a lesson

And yet they have that wonderful "rent a bike sytem " ? plus the streets are full of bike commuters just doesn't make sence When I was there last October I was amazed at the number of SS commuting bikes never mind all the others

So it's not just here in the good old Ar SS AA - picked this up on sky :- Two deaths in london in the last 24 hours with a total of 5 deaths in 9 days makes you wonder - doesn't it ?

Have done a number of Sani2c and W2W - my take W2W is more technical - rough terrain, rocks, roots etc. that "compulsory" portage over the mountain sucks - especially this year on the Adventure with all the rain & mud ! - Sani2c is more flowing manicured single track with day 2 being both the most dificult and most enjoyable. Camp facilities are good in both - this year W2W had FNB on board - what a difference - the chill zones for non clients was great - the client zone even better. Personally I prefer Sani2c - just more expensive with travel arrangements for me living in CT

Yea and then the pr1ck riding on the wrong side suddenly realizes he's on the wrong side swerves to cross over and rides into you >> who is now on the wrong side - then who's at fault ?
