  1. I also think it depends on the person. Running to me is VERY hard. My gf again prefers running. Did a 1h40 2 oceans last year and was broken, after sub3 argus many moons ago I felt ok. Remember that running is a weight bearing sport that makes it that much harder. Like GOG said....you stop moving you stop, no rest! Also busy with lore of running, Jack Daniels training method and Born to Run. All of them are unbelievable books.
  2. cool thnx covie, actually would have saved a lot of frustration and raised blood pressure if Vitality could have send you the same response.
  3. Yes, also have 2/3 people that are interested.
  4. I think you two should take it outside or a room. You also hijacked the post completely...... Covie - Did you get any response yet?
  5. Ag, I dont know. But I an pretty sure polar doesnt pay Vitality. It is about the systems and garmin needs to design a app or something on the website to link with Vitality. Is it possible that Garmin is not interested in go through the trouble for a few consumers in a far off country? But also have look https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/111658-seeking-polar-hrm-files/page__fromsearch__1, someone on thehub was designing a app so that you can upload your garmin file for points, maybe he is finished.
  6. I dont see the fuss. If I read the letter from Discovery it is quit plain that Garmin needs to approach Vitality. They will then add them as partner as well. Like they added Adidas mycoach thing now. You should contact gamin and ask them to approach Vitality. I actually enjoy my Vitality, but remember that they purposely try to change your behaviour. The monthly benefits that I use most is 20% back on my cell phone bill, free gym, 25% cash back at PnP, 25% back at Adidas factory stores, 20% back at stuttafords, 20% cash back at cape union mart. These are places that I would have spent my money at anyway, so if I can score....why not?

  10. just go bobbing up and down all the hills? I am a pleb at mtb, why do you say its not needed?
  11. It is bobbing quit a bit. If a push the bike down it easy drops 3 cm. She took it back to the lbs because it is new. The guy phoned me and told me it is the motion dampening system. Shouldnt it be stiff then and at bump give the bob?

Why my wheel? You might find it dead somewhere along the route. Fitness not nearly what is should be. Anyway, will be there in Metropolitan kit, hole in the bid. Cant miss me!
  13. Hi guys, was looking at a 2nd hand bike with new Recon shock on it. It it have a LOT of movement even when locked. AccordiIng to the seller it is the rock shox dampening system. Is this correct, I would imagine going up a hill with the fork bobbing up and down would be irritating. Or is the seller talking nonsense?
  14. Why will I be joking? It is very cool. I also put sub3 logos on my helmet and bike!
  15. I bought myself the awesome sub 3 kit! Now everyone will show some respect!
  16. Thank you Big J, you opened my eyes!!!!! You are SO right and I am humiliated by my outburst.

  19. Entered, now to get running again!.....can we change the topic to 'Lourensford Duathlon'?
  20. I think you must call the number and 'test' it......you can give us feedback. I wanted to but afraid they see it as a prank call.
  21. Hi Guys, after reading the Tokai Fail thread I realised that very few people know that City of Cape Town has a unique emergency number. PLEASE save it on your phone. An instance like if you fall on a mountain and phone a national number you will struggle to arse off to explain to a person where Tokai forest is. http://www.capetown.gov.za/en/emergencyservices/Pages/Home.aspx What is 107? 107 is a single emergency telephone number for use by all people living in and visiting Cape Town. By using this number you can ask for help when life or property is endangered and you will be efficiently transferred to the nearest relevant emergency service provider, such as the ambulance, fire, police or traffic service. How does it work? You can pick up any Telkom phone, including payphones, and make a toll-free call to 107. The call will be answered by our emergency communication centre. The operator will immediately be able to see where the call is coming from, what the telephone number is, and in the case of private phones, who the subscriber is. By asking a few pertinent pre-determined questions, the operator will be able to determine what emergency service provider is required, and will transfer the call, including all the information he/she has just collected, to the relevant police, fire or ambulance service provider's telephone and computer terminals. The service provider will then determine what type of response is needed, and dispatch the relevant resources such as personnel, vehicles and equipment to where they're needed. Why should you use 107? While previously members of the public might have searched through lists of emergency numbers in the telephone directory and wasted precious time phoning around searching for the correct emergency service, you now have one number that will connect you to the right service within seconds! Can I call 107 from my cell phone? Calls from a cellular (wireless/mobile) phone can be made directly to the 107 centre on 021 480 7700 at national rates. Dialing the number 107 from a cell phone will not work. Enter 021 480 7700 under All Emergencies in your cell phone straight away, so that it will always be on hand.
How do you use 107? Make sure you have information and details regarding the emergency ready, such as the nature of the emergency, whether anyone is injured, the exact location (including nearby landmarks), any potential hazards, etc. Dial 107 from any Telkom phone, or 021 480 7700 on your cell phone. The operator will establish your details, such as your address and phone number. Relay your information - and try to stay calm. Do not hang up until you are told to do so, even if you dialed 107 by mistake. Will 107 replace other emergency numbers? All other emergency numbers are still applicable, however, 107 is a single number that will connect you to all emergency services. What happens to hoax callers? A hoax or prank call to 107 is a very serious crime and members of the public could get a fine or jail sentence up to three years. The 107 system utilizes the latest technology and can automatically determine where the telephone call is coming from.
