What do the weigh in at now ? I have the TB1 if I can remember correctly it was about 2.2 kg with the shock .

Before you purchase either , phone your LBS and ask for availability of common spares like a spoke and bearings etc . If you cant repair the wheel at your convenience don't buy it . The cost of the basic parts would also play a role . My 2cents

I think young Vipa has long way to go before before it can be compared to world class boutique bikes . Nothing against Momsen , but that's running with the big boys .

I had a good ride but was rather disappointed at all badly injured and dehydrated participants in the parking lot spectator areas and medical tents . I must have seen at least a dozen people with collar bone fractures . This level or race should be designed for a manageable challenge not to see so many of the competitors off for surgery .

I have the 510 as well , I would take it over the 500 any day . After each ride it uploads to my phone and Garmin connect . Really cool toy

I have ridden both and decided on the DI2 , EPS is definitely not R20 000 better . In fact in my experience I would rate it as good as DI2 . My 2 cents !

All I would like to hear is a first hand experience , I don't think the bike is inferior in any way it's got a kick ass reputation but I never heard from any person who's actually pulled the trigger and bought the bike .

From what I've heard Sram have patented the XX1 style tooth pattern and the 10/42 style rear cassette , if this is true it leaves the Shimano boys with their pants down . I'm not sure with Wolf copies but if this is true the Shimano guys are in a bit of k@k .

Who has spent their own hard earned cash on this local 50k bike ? Any Vipa owners out there ???? I personally would not drop that kind of cash on it .

If the roadies are fit the guys on the mountain bikes stand no chance ! off road they should try cover 80km , I think that will a proper race

I think you must get a even more expensive road bike to help motivate yourself come summer time . And new shoes , white ones !

Go for 3 Towers , Sani is like the army . You will stand in line for food , for the toilet , to brush you teeth, to take a shower, to wash your bike and likely eat your dinner on the floor because there aren't ever enough chairs at supper time .

I'm not sure you can tar a 18% gradient ? Bassonia will give you some monster climbs that will come close but probably not take more that 5 min . Try Soetdoring street from the robot on Comaro to the top , it's a toughie
