Well there are many factors I believe, money for one, for riders to be noticed they need to go ride and race in Europe, unfortunately these trips are more often than not self funded and the rand to pound/euro doesn't help their cause. Another thing to note is SA is pan flat compared to the climbs in Europe which also doesn't help local riders when/if they do go over, So it goes back to them having to be based there to essentially acclimatize etc. Those are just 2 examples which make it difficult I believe for SA riders currently.

1stly, Welcome to Le Hub. 2ndly, Well done on securing a bike for your Mrs. 3rdly, Not sure what the issue is, I understand a few people are very skeptical about giving out their address to total strangers, Perhaps offer to meet at your nearest LBS or cop shop as that may make them feel more comfi. If you've only just registered an account and are now messaging people regarding their ads, I can understand why some can be very weary. Le Hub is a wonderful place with loads of great people but there have been many a scam happen and this is the unfortunate reality and as said before, People may be a tad skeptical. And a 10 man finish it was with no casualties, thanks LOL... Naah we did the sensible thing and went back to the accommodation when the race was cancelled, last thing we all wanted was to go ride at our own risk and risk the chance of someone getting injured. There will always be next year.

Correct, a social guy or lady riding in the 4th last batch for example at CTCT who manages to go just past a slower rider infront of them at 9km/h up Chappies isn't expecting someone to come flying past them at 25km/h on their right who wasn't there 5secs before when they just past the other rider.

Ego's over law all day errrrrday. I mean we see this with guys with fancy cars too, It's illegal to go faster than 120km/h on the freeway but they will zoom past at 180km/h racing their mates or other okes who also have big ego's because "I'm too cool for the law". Same as those idi0ts who meet up late at night on certain sections of the highways to race illegally, or that chop who lost his legs in the crash on the N1 by Century City who survived and said "I will never stop racing" and all the people out defending him calling it a "passion".. Fine it's your passion but it's still ILLEGAL! Same as said E-Bikers, cycling may be a passion and you managed to purchase an E-Bike, great for you, but the RULES state you need to start in X bunch then start there, it was your choice to buy an E-Bike!! *rant over

Are there any additional fee's when ordering electronic accessories like a Garmin Head Unit for example or just the usual fees? Or is it best to get my sis living in the UK to order and deliver to her address and wait until she lands in Dec?
