  1. This must be an incredible race with sensational views. I'd love to do it one day!
  2. Horner does sound like a bit of a tool, they guy should be collecting his pension shortly and now he has massive wage demands... I guess performance enhancing drugs are pricey nowadays... Sorry did I just say that.
  3. I'd say wheels over gears in the case of the original post and gears over wheels in your case
  4. Let's not forget that Adrian Newey now has 10 drivers and 10 constructors championships won in his cars. He is probably more important to Red Bull than the drivers.
  5. Fantastic news indeed! I was just thinking that MTN-Quebeka deserve a sticky thread for such news.
  6. Wow, I'll scrap the idea of buying one of those then. Strava is as you say far superior to Garminconnect.
  7. As Louis is the best potential GC contender in the MTN squad, this is great news!
  8. WHAT, can you not upload the 510 data to Strava?
  9. Wow 7 pages! Although I think really bad service from a shop/supplier/operator/ect does deserve to be brought to peoples attention, be it on HelloPeter or on a forum such as this, AND sometimes it's the only way to actually get a decent response, I do also feel that one needs to be careful of people jumping on the bandwagon and giving a company a bad image over the few bad incidents. As for CWC, I've used them on many an occasion and never had an issue, but I feel the pain of the topic starter as I've experienced it with companies who are truly useless... Such as Multichoice(DSTV)
  10. Give it a try hey. Also mention that you have been out of the country and surely they will take that into account. I had a friend who was a good runner be reseeded for the 94.7 by using their running results as evidence that they were fit and strong
  11. Brilliant charity! Great work guys!!!
  12. I thought Red Bull was meant to give you wings, not put you to sleep? Seriously though when Red Bull qualifies first and second and neither of the cars have KERS, you know it's an unbelievable car. But for Formula 1 as a spectacle, Mclaren, Ferrari and co need to pull finger next season and put a decent car on the track.
  13. By the way, how often should one service the BB?
  14. Please could someone add me to the hub group A... The legs are already burning just thinking about those juniors attacking from the start line throughout.

    Road Index

So to backup this comment, I've done tough races such as the Panorama Tour and Kremetart in the last 5 months although with neither of those being RaceTec races and me not having competed in a RaceTec race since April, I'm getting penalised on all of my current race seedings. PedalPower, RaceTec and the race organisers are clearly all in bed together.

    Road Index

As far as I can see, most RaceTec timed races use the PedalPower seeding index. However, The Argus and 94.7 have a completely different systems of working out seeding based on predefined races with the Argus using several calculations to try give you the best seeding possible. There are however some races such as the Race For Victory who just thumb suck their seeding or perhaps they just use random races where they organisers have offered backhand deals? Goodness knows. Additionally, I do also feel that the fact that PedalPower penalise riders by adding a penalty point per month on all races older than 5 months is a bit harsh and pretty much forces you to take part in races every few months so they can rip you off.
  17. Formula 1 is once again like the Schumacher error where Vettel has an unbeatable car and average team mates and the race for victory is a snore fest. In my biased opinion, Alonso (in a donkey of a Ferrari) is still the pick of the current bunch of drivers. I think if Vettel ever dominates the sport in a car other than Red Bull I would have to re-evaluate this opinion but until then I still believe this dominance is more car than driver. I don't see much changing in 2014 as even with the new engine specifications, Adrian Newey will design yet another Red Bull masterpiece.
  18. Both Alonso and Webber got reprimanded but Webber got a penalty as it was the third time he was pulled before the stewards this season. Pathetic penalty either way.

    Sailing

What a comeback by Team Oracle USA! However, I do feel that even the South African cricket team would have been impressed by the ETNZ choking act.
  20. He wore yellow for 2 days and you are given 2 jerseys per day by the organisers. Soooo it would have been great to get your hands on one of those 4 maillot jaune, even if theoretically only two were drenched in sweat
  21. Thanks guys, I will try go with the option of using "GPS only" for speed and hopefully this will resolve it. The joys of technology hey... I never had such problems back in the day when I used one of those manual speedometers that calculated speed and distance based on clicks on a cable
  22. Hey Guys, Not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but as of this week my Garmin Edge 500 (with cadence/speed sensor) continually auto pauses and resumes during my ride. The speed drops to 0km/h during this period of about 3 seconds then resumes as per normal. There was no cloud cover and this was out on the open road where there would have been no GPS interference. After reading about this same issue affecting other Edge users, it appears this may have something to do with a fault on the cadence/speed sensor on the rear wheel rather than the Edge unit. Secondly, I understand that with the cadence/speed sensor, the Garmin user the wheel speed instead of the GPS speed, perhaps I should remove the speed sensor off the wheel, but will this affect the cadence setup? Has anyone else experienced this or perhaps have any resolutions for such an issue? Thanks
  23. I hear from a little birdie that Cyclelab Design Quarter will be moving to a new premises in Fourways and the new shop will be the biggest bicycle shop in the country. Looking forward to this
  24. I'll go with Spartacus to win the road race, just look at what he did to the opposition in the spring classics and after seeing his climbing in the Vuelta, I think he is on even better form now. The flat TT will be between Martin or Spartacus but I think the German may just take that. And surely Quickstep have once again got to be favourate for the TTT.
