  1. This, yes.
  2. Carrying a gun while cycling is, without a doubt, a very bad idea. All that will happen is that you will give the robbers even more incentive to rob you. They can now get a bike AND a gun. And secondly, by knowing this (as stated above) they will probably just shoot cyclists from afar, kill you, and see what they can get. Another very important point is that if you carry a gun, you must be prepared to use it. Are you really, really willing and able to kill 1 or more people, face to face, by shooting them? If not, don't carry a gun. The amount of bike hijackings is shocking, I agree. But this, if anything, will only make the matter worse.
  3. I have a pair of the carbon Streetracing I think (carbon sole red and white). Great shoes, very stiff carbon sole, excellent and snug fit, well ventilated. Only had them for a year now, so can't comment on durability. Only complaint is one of the screws that hold the buckle to the shoe fell out somewhere. But good shoes none the less. Edit: I normally wear a 42, and the 42 Suplest fits me perfectly
  4. Thank you very much guys! I managed to get it right. Once i fixed the cable tension, I just had to set the rear derailleur, and it was perfect. I only recently started working on my own bikes, so I was really disappointed to think about taking my bike in tomorrow, eventually getting the bike back, and someone telling me it was "just a cable issue". So once again, thank you very much. I learned a lot tonight
  5. What I thought as well, and the thing is, the bike was in the shop on Wednesday, and it was working perfectly... When I got it back after having something done, this problem came up
  6. Aahh, makes sense now, thanks! Are you going to sell it to buy another pair of Crocs?
  7. Good evening guys and girls, I am hoping someone can help me here. My rear derailleur (XT, about 1 year old) started giving some shifting problems, end I started playing around with the adjustment screws. I kind off k now what I'm doing, but here's the problem: The highest my gear on the back will go is to the 3rd biggest sprocket at the back. I've adjusted the lower adjustment screw to the max, but to no avail. It seems that my derailleur just won't line up at the back with the biggest ring on my cassette. There was no big falls, and over the weekend it was still working fine. Anyone got any advice on how to fix this maybe? If I shift all the way down, I get to my smallest gear at the back, and still have three "shifts" left in the shifter, which obviously doesn't do anything apart from click in the shifter. Am I missing something with the cable tension? Many thanks!!
  8. Already sent them a mail. Def going to be dropping my medals of there in future.

Well done, G! Great achievement, and your bike looks awesome
  10. Almost like those "artificially induced" supplements I've seen in your water bottles?
  11. Hi Francois, There is a group where this is sometimes organised. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/46285-durbanville-area-roadies/page__st__5376?do=findComment&comment=2376215. Keep an eye out for rides there, or maybe even organise a ride .

I also rode the 42km in 2012 at about 2:25ish, and last year the 60km was also my first longer race - much like your situation now. I didn't go hard last year, rode within myself on all the climbs, and only pushed myself for the last say 10km. And if I remember correctly I rode about 3:40.

    Newbie on race entry

Also, so you dont have to learn this the hard way: do not start by going full out. Start at a pace you can maintain for 10km. If you finish, with still plenty fuel in the tank, maybe experiment a bit more at the next race.
  14. Dale, was actually nice meeing you the other day. I think it was you? I joined you and Lesley and another guy for a quick spin to just before Klein Joostenberg. I was on a red Specialized
  15. So given the argument that weight is less important than aero, it would be better to go for the 50mm rims, even if they weigh a bit more? Then you just have to up your skills I guess
  16. So if you have to choose between 38mm wheels, and 50mm wheels, that basically weigh the same, you go for the 50mm wheels every time?
  17. How would you prefer us to let you what our email address is?
  18. Fantasy league was great fun! We doing the same for Vuelta and TdF? Interesting fact: Uran still earned more points in the fantasy league than Quintana did.
  19. Thats what I like to hear! Also got Nairo in there, so will be good to see them battle it out. Also for non-fantasy-league purposes.
  20. Glad I have Uran in my fantasy team, might just make me some more points!
  21. Hope this photo works? Posting via my phone, so please let ne know if you can see it?
  22. Supersport apologised via Twitter, admitting it was sloppy, and saying action will be taken.
  23. Just not good enough. Going to ask them on Twitter
