  1. Entered the 65km, but if it's a mudfest i might just do the 35km. Wannabe, JGR, we can ride together?
  2. On my way to sign up
  3. So the UCT parking is not for everyone, only you youngsters who still study at UCT? Think I will find a scaly street a couple minutes walk from the start and stroll in from there. Thanks for the help guys
  4. Thanks guys, appreciate the help. Brogue, so you not parking at the designated areas, like SACS? Is there a shuttle service from UCT? I'll def be taking a black bag, maybe even two. Or even better, maybe an old hoodie or something. I'm made for warmer weather
  5. Where would be the best place to park? I'm staying over in Woodstock for the night, so should I just take the road that leads to Newlands from Cape Town (can't remember the name now!), and park as close to the start as possible? Starting in D, so what time would you guys recommend i get to the Start line to start at the front? Thanks!
  6. ping @lucmccan. he got a pair of lumo green Diadora's from EVObikes. So far I know he likes them a lot (might just be the colour though )
  7. Have a look at the Suplest range at CWC - from what i hear the new range is only coming in April though, but that will probably also come at a premium. I have got these (used to be R2999 so they are marked down now) - http://cwcycles.com/product/suplest-streetracing-carbon-buckle-2013-white. I know the sizes are probably limited now, but if I had to buy new shoes I won't think twice about getting these again. Carbon sole is super stiff, buckle makes your shoe fit like a comfy blanky, and they have great ventilation.
  8. Really hope you get it back. A real sinking feeling when you realise its gone. My family had to drive all the way from the Northern Suburbs, and the spare key only works "manually", so i'm so thankful for getting it back
  9. I double checked immediately when I got it - opens my door and starts my car. So it has to be my key
  10. Haha, wow, what a coincidence this is. Sorry to hear about that - I know it's not a nice feeling. Hope someone hands yours in as well
  11. First time i did this race, and I will def be back next year! Such a great race, and really fun racing around those routes. Just as a side note: I realised halfway up OKW that i forgot to zip up my back pocket, and that my car key had fallen out. Was a bit bummed by this, but what can you do. After finishing the race the family walked the first couple km's up and down the start of the route to search for the key, but to no avail. As a last resort my no was handed to the race organiser, who said he will give me a call should someone hand it in. Needless to say it made my day when he phoned me a couple minutes later and said someone came and handed in the key. Someone actually stopped while riding/racing, and picked the key up to go and hand it in to the organiser! To you, Sir/Madam, I am really grateful. If you read this please let me know so that I can thank you personally (it was a single Mercedes key - nothing attached to it). You saved me many troubles, frustrations and quite a bit of cash!
  12. Amazing race - well organised, lovely scenery, plenty single track. Still considering driving through on the morning to go and enjoy this beauty!
  13. Have a look at the Suplest range from CWC. I only got the road shoes, but they are super comfy and seems to be very good quality, and very stiff carbon sole. Quite a bit cheaper than the Specialized range i think. A mate has the MTB shoes and he cant be happier.

    Tour Down Under

Unreal performance - flying up the climb in the big blade, and that descent! That guy knows how to go down a hill
  15. Should still be able to enter on the day, just make sure and get there early.
  16. See you on the 1st of March
  17. Eish, eina . But might just be a very good idea! Thanks
  18. Not too worry, I'm sure we can get a couple guys together for a recce ride or two closer to the race.
  19. Thats right. Did you do the Durbanville HS Fun Ride? Looks to be exactly the same route, except you turn off to Malanshoogte for a hard finish, over the two bumps.
  20. Anyone got some good climbing drills?
  21. . Well, now he knows what the other part looks like as well
  22. Is it that the rode we where we turn to the right after Val de Vie? Its a slight bump when you have turned, but then it's all cool untill you take a nice downhill to the left, towards Wellington. Nothing to be worried about there
  23. Lucas, we did the part from the actual start of Old Helz in 13:01 at the training ride, so you should be able to do the section from the start of the race, to the top in about 13-15min
  24. Baie cool idee! Ek en n paar vriende sal verseker belangstel in so eits elke nou en dan. Hou ons op hoogte
  25. According to the website only opens on the 15th of Oct now
