Hi - I used a XT Hollowtec II and Travativ Noir crank in the past. The Shimano blades were far more surperior to the Travativ. All being equal I would go as far to say you can get 2 to 3 times the live out of the Shimano. The Noir blades are lighter and much cheaper last time I checked. Dont know about SLX. XT cassette is lighter than SRAM - not sure about durability - to me it was much of a muchness. Used SRAM most of the time. Chain, dont bother with XTR. My experience

i know you wont - old hand on the hub. but some newish guys (or gheys) may get a bit "excited" by our comments

both are established brands - you really have to take them both for a spin and decide then. obviously there is the "cool" factor. The "rule of invisible thumb" states. Get the one that look and feel the fastest maybe post the specs of both
