Bit confused here, isn't Rhodes some 462 km from PMB, and the summary only has MD ridden some 317km?
Tracker distances are inaccurate.
I think at some stage some of them were reset as previously some trackers showed distances much higher than what had been ridden. I am assuming the RTR trackers changed to RASA riders and the distance accumulated.
If you click the red line though it shows the route distance of each "day"- not sure that helps work it out but time is more of a factor than distance in this case.
Once again, the best organised event on the mtb calendar.
SuziQ, you deserve so much kudos!
Did the 6 hours, managed 14 laps, was aiming for 10. No cramps paced myself nicely taking a break every two laps, with a lunch stop to chow and get the HR down a bit.
The treeline section was so much frikken fun. Had two squeaky clean runs with no-one in front, and I couldn't get the grin off my face for the next two laps.
Walkers/runners was separated by well placed markers, and the best marshals on any race.
Cant believe I missed the last couple of years, not gonna do that again!
Thanks so much for the awesome feedback.
See you next year!!
Gonna go out and do a few laps this afternoon?
You are too funny! Is 6 hours tomorrow not enough?
Every year the thread for this race comes up and every year I have some pangs of sadness - this was one of my favourite races.
Emigrating sucks a few times a year :-)
Ah Eldron. Was wondering what happened to you.
Still one my favourite feedback quotes on this forum from 2013s race -
"This was a really great event! I was pleasantly surprised actually.
There was a good, relaxed vibe and a fun but balanced route. The new singletrack and the school section were the highlights for me.
Would have liked to back off a little but Eldron chased me the whole day!
Well done to all involved, see you next year." Posted by TimHenman
Hi I am giving it a try as a newbie! Looking forward to it.
I will be doing it for the 1st time with a couple of mates too! We will "smile and wave"
Welcome guys. I am sure you are going to have a blast.
Rode "that" climb this weekend, was hoping it has gotten flatter, but it hasn't.
I'll pack some extra rennies for when the dogs start biting....
What goes up, must come down!!
The section in the school will make it worth it, and the "gees" on the sports field and the sports massage and ....
@RocknRolla looking forward to seeing you there
@Cheese the stairs are an A line, and very ridable, Im told! There is a B line option which is simple single track and only slightly longer. Glad to hear you will be back.
I believe the route is looking awesome and we had just enough done for the rain to help and not destroy the route and still a few days to go (and a number of hours work on the trail).
Jozi trails has also been putting lots of effort into the water erosion situation.
Dont forget the Delta Dash is this Saturday.
Check out this video of the last few seconds of last years racing if you still aren't sure if you want to enter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtRhRRgVk5M
Online entries are open until Wednesday night. http://www.cycleevents.co.za/mtb-events/delta-dash-6-hour-mtb-endurance-race-2019/?fbclid=IwAR3KM0yU-XyyXuAwTZTUBFU4EDWKJTItVs13lEsp_7maHYELtzcsfGWmZaw
Line entries will be available from 6.30am until 8am on Saturday at Delta Park School, providing the race isn't sold out.
Just to be clear.. is the team race a relay-style race or the team all rides together at the same time?
Yes, correct. Only one member of each team can be on the course at the same time.
That being said if everyone wants to sit and chill for a while and not ride the full 6 hours, that is also fine.
A team member doesnt have to be on the course all the time - unless you are racing it, then every single second counts
I see all the "repeat offenders" have entered. Any newbies considering giving the Dash a bash?
Will definitely be there - great pre-JoBerg2C prep ride, great atmosphere and for a great cause.
Great news. Thanks for the ongoing support!

Hello SuzieQ. There seems to be something wrong with that link. It doesn't go to your channel. Has anyone else experienced this?
Hmm. Sorry about that - maybe now I have it correct?
For anyone who missed out this year. Check out this video from the last few seconds of the day. Some pretty good racing on the go -
Thanks for the support to those who made it!!
What a super day out! Well done to SuziQ and everyone involved.
Did that announcer guy have to say 'I don't think you'll make a last lap in time unless you just want to get in some extra training' [emoji15] seriously sore from that effort this morning but well worth it [emoji41]
Sounds like it was some serious inspiration to get moving!! Well done!
What a great day.
Nice course on SS Cotic with good mates and lost of beer and boerie rolls afterwards.....
See you next year Suzie
Great to hear. See you next year!
I didnt go, had other stuff on too and I didnt wanna DNF by having to leave early.
Just for future, there is no DNF at the Delta Dash, we have a number of guys who cant ride the full day and come and ride 3 or 4 hours. It just means you end up lower down on the results but no DNF. Hope to see you next year.
I shall be there... Rigid Singlespeed
Totally crazy!!
Going solo again but this time on a full sus. Too much pain last year on my rigid SS.
Much better idea!
Race to Rhodes – the race that loses its young. More musings from a novice.

Carlo I LOVE this. So well written. And my boy gets a mention...super proud of him (and his dad too)
I'm so pleased I got to meet you at the finish. One thing that is clear is that, although it's your first FC event, I know it won't be your last. You are clearly an addict.
Most notably, on your arrival was your mood - happy to be finished, proud of your efforts (even though your goals had not been met exactly to your high standards) and in good spirits even after your night out in your "crinkly". Lehana's might have just beaten you this time but certainly hasn't seen the last of you.....
It was an amazing effort - for anyone, let alone a rookie. Congratulations!
I look forward to watching your dots in the near future!
