  1. Pallets that my goods are packed on and shipped from China, Taiwan, Germany and the UK are treated as well as paperwork supplied with shipment saying so.
  2. You need to consider the cost of cleaning up cheap wood, time is money. A cheap laminate flooring is a neat, easy and cost effective solution. No need for top of the range as nobody should be walking on the wall.
  3. Have you thought about floor laminate? Secure with some adhesive.
  4. Regretfully no, however you do get triple bonus points if your 1st week sprinters make it to Paris.
  5. Woodoc or Rustoleum make an Ebony stain.
  6. I'm going the other way, started slowly and now I'm quickly working my way backwards. Bling was my man for today's stage and that idea is now in the can! Roll on the hills!
  7. I'm loving this game, 1st time for me and it certainly adds a new dimension to the flat days. Learning curve is straight up at the moment!
  8. SANCHEZ!!!!!!! Oh well I guess he can keep my "picked with the heart" Cavendish company in the no points to be had here grouppetto! Did not take long to learn that sentiment has no place in the world of pro bike racing, anyone have Doug Ryder's email address?
  9. This Bosch drill, http://www.bosch-professional.com/za/en/impact-drill-gsb-16-re-226567-06012281k1.html on special at Makro R 999.00. 750 W
  10. Picture of hand brace? Interested in the drill bits, sell separately?
  11. This system's gonna fall soon, to an angry young tune And that's a concrete cold fact And so it would seem that even in the 70's they were blaming the youth!
  12. Deep Purple Made in Japan
  13. Not feeling the love for one of the best cyclists in the game. Ever. Not that I said so.....his results say so.
  14. The other machine I could not live without is a compressor.
  15. Looking back through the results we know that the top pen is Beech, it's the dark wood we're after. Beech and Stinkwood. Kiaat. * trying for a hint*
  16. Lots of good suggestions on what tools to buy here, I guess it's all about personal preference and what I have and what works. I have access to a shop that has some machines that I find I cannot do without, thickenesser planer, band saw, drill press and although I have, clamps because you cannot have enough of those. What I did learn early on was accuracy and patience, like the All Blacks. If your wood stock is not square to start with you will struggle. Access to a thicknesser is a must. I use a Triton table saw, wish I had space for two, one in table mode the other for cross cut. I suspect a good quality mitre saw would be a better option. On sanders I have found Bosch blue are indestructible , the rest I have tried and thrown away. Belt sander is invaluable when making large tops, mine is a Hitachi, beast of a machine and a real workhorse https://www.takealot.com/hitachi-belt-sander-1020w/PLID45135466 This thread is inspiring me to start a long overdue project, work bench. Might go and buy the wood when it stops raining.
  17. Triton table saw and router with table. 2nd hand is a good buy.
  18. Maple Street Timbers up here in the big smoke selling at 26k and 30k, so a good price. Also nice sized boards.
  19. Beech and Blackwood?
  20. Nice site listing Stanley planes. http://www.hansbrunnertools.com/Stanley%20by%20numbers/Stanley%2055.htm

  22. Finally finished my son's tool chest. Birds eye maple, maple and curly maple.
  23. Mix up some sand, pool filter sand works very well, with resin and apply to every other board. Make sure to mask off areas not required to be painted with resin well. Mix up small batches. Some paint on the resin and spread the sand over before it dries. Try both on some scrap.
  24. Much better ways of screwing decks down now days. And use Torx drive screws, stainless steel if you can afford it. Do not buy the Eureka screws pre packs! Poor Chinese quality. Something like this easyclip system. http://www.mstimbers.co.za/easyclip/61-easyclip-coastal-250-pack.html
