  1. There's a set of the next gen 105 shifters (R7000) listed on classifieds that's compatible with your 5800 derailleurs. Buyer should be open to some negotiation as there's not much demand for these.
  2. I'm with cyclesure. According to mates I'm overpaying, but I've had two claims for accidental damaged settled with no issue, so reluctant to switch. Am upgrading now, and dreading the possible new premiums though...
  3. Multiply Inspire, Engage, Premier. ...Sigh... What's the long and the short from those in the know?
  4. Mad-Macs? I tore one of my white ones, but tape is holding it together for now... Also - they don't really look white anymore...
  5. Put them in the sun for 10min. Start mounting opposite to the valve. Make sure every part already mounted is as centered as possible. Use four hands.
  6. Change a decade old username? Never!
  7. Last year Tour de Worcester (road cycling) I ignored the commissaire when he went straight over an intersection. Organisers changed the route 5 days before the event, they reminded everyone of the change, I updated my GPX file. I was leading the field and they all followed me. The comm chased us down, made us turn, took us onto the old route, and the race was promptly stopped when Worcester traffic said they have no officers on these intersections. Sometimes you just can't win...
  8. It's went down many different ways across the various stage hostings / 100 Miler runs. Especially when considering age groups too.
  9. Bainskloof hill-top from the East on stage 1. Bainskloof TT from the West on stage 2. Paardeberg loop with Bothma's Kloof stage 3. Hellshoogte + Du Toit's Kloof stage 4. Paardeberg rollers stage 5. I think it could be good.
  10. Absolutely. I'll wear a go-pro if I can get my entry for half price!
  11. You mean weekly email campaigns about how they are inundated with the uptake is not enough? What about the Andrew Mclean quotes?
  12. That can be a whole thread on it's own for most of our local racing scene...
  13. Some might feel the new offering is better so same price means better value for money. Same week as Cycle Tour vs 10 days before might make it more palatable for upcountry amateurs that planned to do Cycle Tour anyway to travel earlier. 🤞 Haven't entered but think I will do the early bird and hope for better participation numbers!
  14. List it for R8k ONCO and take the best offer.
  15. Sure, but you report consistent trends that deviate from your valuations. Sounds like all the players in the market (bar a couple) are in rough agreement on value.
  16. Hmm 🤔
  17. Yip. As another comment said. Table sugar is a 1:1 dual source. Glucose molecule on the left there bound to a fructose molecule on the right:
  18. True, but if you do them daily they still need to be fueled and your stores need to be replenished. You're tapping into a minimum of 100g of stored glycogen per hour at endurance pace (not coffee pace though), but likely more. People talk about the recovery window for fueling closing 30min post ride, but they don't often talk about the fact that the window opens when you start riding and not only when you finish.
  19. It is two sources, but not in the ideal ratio. It's 1:1, so if you are used to 120g/h you can do 80g/h, or if you want the same sweetness then only 40g/h. Add some lemon juice and salt and it's great. Or just buy some maltodextrin and get those carbs without the sickly sweetness.
  20. His BMI is nearly 26 which is technically overweight. His body fat percentage is low, so has to be muscular. He is in range for a body builder in a cut phase that is approaching a competition.
  21. > 187cm and 89kg... around 8% body fat. You are carrying a huge amount of muscle. Body builders or rugby players or anyone doing another sport that leads to a non-cyclist or non-normie build should only buy what they can try on IMO. > the "crop top" look If your jersey looks good and fits comfortably while standing, it has too much material in the front. In a riding position the distance from neck to waist is very short.
  22. No, no. The microwave just dinged with my popcorn!
  23. Eish. We didn't even have to grab a pic of Matej with his Scultura to show you, you did the work for us!
  24. And again on stage 10!
  25. Just lost the sprint from the breakaway. Doing the national jersey proud!!
