  1. Ok guys, this has gone far enough, I'm closing this thread. Any attempts to start anything related to PT's etc, and becoming a mud-slinging will be closed as well.. It's one thing to discuss a product, but another when someone is using the forum as a means to slander the manufacturer / agents repeatedly...
  2. BikeMax: did you even read the study on the Qring page? Lab tested subjects, the works...
  3. Windbreaker: it doesn't affect the smoothness, but due to the oval shape, your shifting might take a second longer as it waits for the top of the oval to pass through the deraileur...
  4. Windbreaker, I think recommended retail is something like R1500 for both rings (big and small blades), but I'm sure you can negotiate with WW. Considering a normal BBB big chainring is close to R500, it's not bad value for money...
  5. They come with a booklet, and you have 5 different settings (yes they have a lot of holes since 5 x bolts + 5 settings). I suspect with a PT (or some way of measuring power) you can then see which setting gives you the smoothest stroke with the most power.
  6. Hey, you still need to pay me for the rings you bastard! Jokes aside, since I'm poor and can't afford any sort of power device, I can only go on my feeling, and these things feel good!! It's a bit different when you start riding with them, but you get used to it quickly...
  7. From one heavy to another, I've been using a set of 32hole XT hubs for the past few years and haven't had any hassles with them. Had to have them rebuilt once after Dirtopia when it was still in Greyton, and the swamp was full of water. Apart from that, not a problem.
  8. Velouria you got f'd!! CWC was selling Chorus clusters for 1k...last Centaur cluster I bought was R700 at my normal LBS, not even CWC!
  9. Nice...probably worth more than my house
  10. Ouch! Also almost went in to the side of a Corsa this morning when the woman didn't quite understand how a circle & yield signs work.
  11. When I bought the alu VT, I refused to get rid of my Litespeed Ultimate. I still train on it more than I ride the VT. The VT might be nice and light, but after 100km's I feel I need a kidney belt!
  12. Avoid fruits & nuts, after all, you are what you eat

Who won the two Vets races? (1500m and 3km points race)?
  17. Thats why you have a Cannondale...now go...send those dimensions to the welder, and let us behold the beauty when she arrives...
  18. I was riding behind a new Giant at Killarney and thought..."hey, it's the new Giant"..and it passed. Everytime I see a Serotta or a Seven, I take a second look and think.."lucky bastard"...doesn't even matter if the bike is 10yrs old...everytime I see a old Litespeed with yellow decals I go "he rides that bike today, because nothing else compares to the feeling"... ...it is a good feeling Mr. Ti
  19. Ti...you know it...it calls you...the smooth metal lines, the exotic craftsmanship of a welder working on your machine, the smooth satin finish of brushed metal with minimal decals that has eyes wander over it 10yrs from now with the look of 'The owner was an individual...he knew what he wanted..'
  20. It's Cashandra in the 'Lab kit. They matched her Proline contract, and she moved. That way she has a lot more freedom and doesn't have to sign a Proline contract that says 'Anriette WILL win these races' and won't have to sit up in sprints like Merissa in H2H... Also very happy to see Chrissie taking the racing to Proline, instead of just following... Hopefully this year we can see ladies racing go up a notch!
  21. 5yrs so far, 25kg's less, several bikes... Some people say I do well, but I'm still convinced I'm a funrider that "rides to eat"
  22. Rumour has it FlyMango are charging people R200 extra to take a bike along when they fly down for Funride World Champs in March... fatcyclist2007-02-08 01:56:34
  23. Both WorcesterWheelers and myself flew tandems up to the H2H last month on Kulula, and they were just bubblewrapped. No damage, and they were very accomodating (I was 8kg's over the weight limit and they didn't say anything!)... Will definately use Kulula again!!
