  1. Yeah i remember that group from years ago, the good old times, when cycling was fun and i used to still live in the cape....... but history has a habit of repeating itself...... so prep for the heat wave cos the hot stuff is coming back soon to make more of a fool of himself.
  2. I am not surprized, i actually followed this rider and many others when they were at the hight of their careers. I was an aspiring junior during those years and let me tell you something, that guy took more than just epo, if you saw the size of that guys legs, the one thing that immediately jumped to mind was STEROIDS!!!!!! But i cant say for sure, but shew those legs were BIG, He and a few others raced in SA during the 90's as well, rapport tour, Boland Tour, Giro etc.
  3. in that case i will just have to make the visit permanent! I like the way you stink my bru! House of Rasputin followed by Buckleys - (cheaper entertainment) hows that nice coffee bar on camps bay main road on a sunny morning? and what about blaauwberg main road along the beach front on a sunny summers evening with the sun setting over the ocean and the roller bladers roller balding up and down with bikini's and how bout that lack of traffic and the ability to actually ride ur bike on the road without a fear of being petrol bombed for the 50cents u got in ur back pocket or spring PPA league and how the marshalls keep crapping me out for being a naughty little sh!t ................ and i am going insane! u lucky bast@rd! lemme get back to work..... well i like to call it work. call u later boet

  10. Hi all, i know there is a thread about this already but i just dont have the time to go dig thru the archives to find it. if any of you have a contact number to phone for track availability for training times at kyalami would you be so kind as to to possibly pm lulu or post it on this thread as she would like to train at the track in the evenings. I will ask at cyclelab myself just to check but that will only be 2morro, i was hoping that perhaps some of you will be able to help her out for now so long. Thanks in advance
  11. ok, thanks for the heads up , by the way are their lights on the track, or do we rely on the sun.
  12. I would like to try and do this once a week at least, thnx for the link Jason I live very close to the track, i wonder if i can cycle there and back on the evening i go, will it be safe?
  13. Thanks will do
  14. Hi all Is there a contact person who would be able to tell me what days and times the track is available to ride on in the week?
  15. Well said! Come one Marius, pay the R700 for software, it's the right thing to do
  16. And watch the saffas play cricket with moerse hangovers! ooh i hope they get an @ss wipping from the pommies today - SA does not deserve to win so i reckon they should just cut their losses go home and retire half the team. and i hate the pommies so for me to say this means i am very dissapointed in our team.
  17. classic But serioulsy, Owen is the man! All he needs to do is slow down and talk slowly, he thinks too quickly - common problem when ur nervous - maybe he is still a little nervous - i would be too sitting so close to Andrew and Arnold. Rather watch Smallville, Chloe Sullivan (Alison Mack) is much hotter and she does not talk fast
  18. Yeah Malcolm is awesome!
  19. Sorry Well u can take Mr Jedi out then
  20. At ur weight, heck u could ride solid lead and ur overall riding weight will still be lower than most. I say go aluminium with carbon seat pillar and fork, save urself tons of cash cos quite frankly the couple of 100 grams u save on carbon frames, in my opinion does not justify the price increase. With a carbon seat post ur ride should be more comfy and with a carbon fork as well. At ur wieght, u really don't need to go full carbon, thus u can save urself a ton of cash - perhaps take the mrs on that holiday she has always wanted. For excellent priced, custom built aluminium frames with carbon parts see www.produx.co.za Cannot go wrong - i have been riding one for over 4 years now - love it! - wont break the bank balance either
  21. Hi Edoardo, thanks for the info, i will take your advice and follow up on joining some group rides initially to get to know the area. - excellent idea!
  22. eeeeek, thats early slowpoke PS: Sorry to hear about ur accident. Hope u get better soon! Is it just becos of the traffic that we should train earlier? If i do train at that time of the morning(6am) can i still train alone or should i always be with other riders? From a safety perspective ppl will always say train with partners but i do it alone in CT, can i do the same in Kyalami and midrand as well provided i train at 6:00am to avoid traffic? is the traffic really that bad that i cannot train mid-day in jhb even on weekends? Please advise Thanks
  23. Hi all Me being from CT, i am not sure if it is safe to train on ur bike during the day on weekends on ur own. Is it safe? I am staying in Kyalami Estates and work in Midrand so i reckon most of my training on weekends will be in those areas. Is it safe to venture out on ur own. I do it all the time in CT and am able to train for long durations almost anywhere without hassle. I also prefer to train from my doorstep and return to my doorstep and do not like driving to a safer place to commence training, would this be possible from kyalami estates where i stay? I am typically a mid-day rider so most of my training rides are done between 10:00am and 2:00pm on weekends. During the week i am sorted as i have an indoor trainer and will train on that thing before work on alternate days, it's just the weekend that worries me. Thanks
